You And Me Forever

Suhani's POV

We were always been a happy family.Baba(Father) is a reserved person.He never had too many friends.Ma(Mother) was his best friend.Baba only loved to tease Ma.

On the other hand Ma was an extrovert person.Ma loved to make friends.

They met at the college for the first time.Ma was in first year and Baba was in final year at that time.Gradually they became best friend and transformed their friendship into a lifetime partnership.

10years ago like any other day, we were having our dinner together.Baba was teasing Ma as usual, while me and baby were enjoying that happy banter.

Suddenly Ma had Massive heartattack.We bought her  to hospital but Ma could not able to fight back that blow.Our whole world collapsed infront of our eyes.Baba was so heartbroken that he went under severe depression.

Baby was just 12years old at that time, when I was 16years old.Overnight we had become the mother of each other. Being a sensitive child Baby never created any trouble, she tried to take care of me and Baba instead.

After Ma left us Rajesh kaku and Bani kakima (Father's friend or younger brother is called 'kaku' and his wife is called 'kakima' in Bengali) gave us constant mental support.Rajesh kaku is Baba's childhood friend.Kaku, kakima helped us a lot to bring Baba out of depression.

I was thinking about all this,when I realised I came back to my room and I was getting late.

Guys......it was Autumn but in kolkata weather was still quite hot.So I wore lemon colour cotton kurti and white palazzo.
I packed my midriff length black wavy hair in a ponytail.I applied some sunscreen,kajol and lipgloss.l  had already wore my contact lenses as I have minus power in eyes. I never used coloured lenses as I like my original eye colour.I  looked at the mirror for the last time and went out of the room.

I saw in kitchen, Radha Masi,our house helper  was making breakfast.

"Good morning ....Radha Masi"I said with a smile.

"Good morning......didi" she replied.

"Didi breakfast is ready....so don't go without eating"

"Masi I don't have time to eat breakfast now so please pack it I will have it later"I told her and started to make tea for Baba as he only like my handmade tea.

"Didi you always do this.... why don't you wake up little early? You sit, with out eating you are not going anywhere." She was adamant.

Radha masi(Mother's sister or mother's friend or someone younger then mother is called Masi in Bengali) was with us from my childhood and love us alot.

"Masi....I can't.... really...I don't have time today, my class will start before it's usual time...please spare me today.." I replied with a smile.

"Don't show me that smile of yours...you know how to convince people with your pretty smile...." she said and tried hard to make a angry face.

I grinned and poured tea in a cup started going towards Baba's room,Masi shook her head and continued her work.

"Don't be happy that much I already told about this to your Kakima, you just wait....."I heard her words when I was going out of kitchen with tea tray.

I turned back with a jolt and gasped.
"Ohh!!no!!, Why you did this Masi??
Now Kakima will either call me to her place for breakfast or will come here to feed me....uff!"I sighed helplessly.

"What's up ladies......?"I turned towards the source of the voice and saw Baby was standing some steps away from me.

"Why are you looking so scared Mommy??" she asked, walked past me to take milk from kitchen counter.

"Just see?? Masi has complained to Kakima about my breakfast"

"Ooo.." she replied nonchalantly.

'Strange!!' I  thought and suddenly light bulb went on in my head.

"Wait a minute...Baby..? you told Masi to tell Kakima... right??"I saw Masi was smiling.

"Yes...who else would do that" she said carelessly.

"Baby.....how could you?? How could you do that.....I will kill you ."I rushed towards her.But she rushed ahead of mine.

"You don't have that much time...go to Baba... his tea is getting cold" she said while giving me naughty smile.

"I will see you later... you wait"I made a face and went to Baba's room.

I saw baba was reading The Statesman sitting on the couch.I placed tea infront him on the tea-table.

"Good morning Baba"

"Good morning Betua" Baba replied, while shifting his eyes from the paper.

"Ready to go college?" Baba asked looking at me

"Yes ,Baba".

"Is Baby ready?"

"She doesn't have class today....so she will be at home." Baba nodded then  asked

"Betua I want to know are you enjoying your work?"

"Absolutely Baba .. ..."I told

"Good". He replied with a satisfactory smile and took a  sip of his tea then closed his eyes for a moment.

"How is tea...Baba?"

"As good as you always make ".

I smiled at his reply.

"Baba I am going or I will be late.." I hugged him.

"Have you called Sadhan to drive you    college??"

"Yes..Baba...".

"Ok...bye and take care". he said lovingly while pating my head.

"Bye....Baba, please take food on time." He nodded with a smile,I smiled back and came to my room.

I took books and files to go to college.

I sat in the car, told the driver
"Sadhan da please drive to college fast. (elder brother is called Dada in Bengali)"

"Alright...didi".He said

Sadhan da dropped me at college.I entered in the college premises and searched for Jagriti.

Guys.. Jagriti is my friend and colleague.
I saw ,she was busy  looking at her mobile so I went very near her without any noise .

"Boom !!.....". I said loudly from behind.

She turned towards me with shocked face while placing her one hand on her chest.

"Ohh!!!God!! Suhani..... are you crazy...??"

"You are so busy with mobile..so I just can't resist to startle you" I said while laughing.

"We are not kids anymore" she said while taking a deep breath.

"Who said...only kids can do that.." I said and shrugged my shoulder.she shook her head in annoyance.

"By the way,what are you looking at".I asked with interest.

"At my cute boyfriend whom I mate in social media" she replied with enthusiasm.

"And??".I asked with raise eyebrows.

"We are planning to go on a date".she said even more enthusiasm.
