Pandemic


We rise in our lives
And waste them before screens
Melting away from the lies of this world
The lies we tell one another hurt
But the ones that hurt the most
Are the ones you tell yourself
You may say i dont know what im not talking about
That im just some ignorant tenn looking to cause havoc
Well look around
See all the scandalisms?
See all the people living without a home
Without a fire to keep them warm
Going hungry because we are too selfish to feed them
To care for them
To love them
Fearing that to do so
We would become like them
Well i tell you
You are worse than them
With the fear of being like them
You have fallen even deeper than they

It controls everything
Shush?
Nah i dont think so
I may be some teen just trying to make it through life
But unlike most
I look around
To see
The kindness
The love
The joy
In the world
I may just be some teen just living my life
But i tell you
Fear is already a pandemic
A pandemic
Worse than even Covid
Fear
Fear

You tell yourself you are brave
That you are not selfish
That you care
You say that if someone hits you
They are lucky to get back up again
But i tell you to turn the other cheek
Show them who's better
Show them that there is more to life than hurt
Trust me
I know
Maybe more than most
I know
I can see
I can hear
I know
But you may not
I have been shattered countless times over
But i manage to crawl back to my feet
Glued back together again
Too stubborn to die
I tell you that life is made to have fun, to love and be kind
I know its hard
I know it can hurt too
But dont let this pandemic control your life again

Others know
So listen to us
We need to stick together
To pick each other up when we are down
To slap that bandage over a small cut
And tell them they will be fine
That you care
That you love them
Love is unconditional
You cannot act like you love all your whole life when you don't
I have tried
And it hurts more than ever
I have been shattered and broken so many times
But people do care
They always manage to pick up all my pieces
And glue me together again
I know it hurts
Let me share your burden
Don't take everything on yourself
Find people that care
That love
And they will always
Always put you back together again
Hold you when times are hard
Give you tissues when you cry
Support you when you need it the most
The pandemic of fear has ruled long enough
Turn of the screens and go interact with people face to face
Find people that will love and care for you
And i promise you
That you will never be left alone again
Help me stop this pandemic of fear
Help me stop it once and for all
It will take time
It will hurt
But if we stick together
We will accomplish anything
Let this pandemic of fear live no longer
Dont be afraid to be different
Live up to it
Everyone is different

And dont listen to anyone who tells you something else
We are different
But alike in so many ways
We have all been hurt
All have been shattered to pieces
Still trying to make sense of life
