As Y/n and Happy reached the school, it didn't take long for her to find her brunette best friend.
"Peter! Peter! Peter!" She yelled jumping out of the car not really saying 'goodbye' to Happy. She ran towards him, almost knocking him over when she embraced him. The boy had known her long enough to expect a big hug and was very prepared to catch her. Y/n on the other hand was prepared to fall over from Peter not catching her. Peter might be prepared to catch her but that doesn't always mean that he does. However today was not the case. Peter caught her effortlessly, throwing Y/n off guard."Peter, did you actually catch me today?" The girl questioned, completely stunned.
"Yes Y/n, I did." Peter replied in a matter-of-factly way. Y/n smiled at her best friend, amazed that he caught her. The two laughed and walked into school together.School has never really been Y/n's thing. I mean yes she got good grades and worked somewhat hard but it just wasn't her thing. Peter, the quirky little genius he is, is pretty much the only thing keeping her at school or preventing her from doing stupid things. Oh yeah, and her father.
As they walked through the hallway, Peter rambling on about some science project that he had to finish but Y/n's thoughts lied elsewhere. More specifically, her father. Over the past month and half, she was moved around to a bunch of different therapies trying to break her out of her depressed state. Though she claimed it was helping and she was getting better, she really wasn't. The girl missed her father more and more everyday and nothing was helping. Nothing. Y/n has always been in awe of her father and his accomplishments and she hopes she can live up to them or maybe even be better. However, seeing her little half sister Morgan grow up to be like him did not help at all.She was snapped out of her thoughts as she watched a girl walk up to her and Peter. Michelle Jones, or commonly known as MJ. She walked with her book bag hanging on one shoulder and her hair tied back into a messy ponytail. She looked exhausted. Peter was quick to greet her with a bright smile and soft voice, followed by Y/n. Y/n looked at her friend, MJ, with worry. Before Y/n could say anything MJ firmly stated that she was okay, just very tried.
The three of them walked to class and were eventually joined by their friend Ned. When they sat in their seats, they had a little time to kill before the bell so the boys went off talking about some new Star Wars thing while the girls talked about random things.
"You guys are weird." MJ said looking at the two boys, who were very deep into their conversation.
"And you're not...?" Ned said trying to make a point but it backfired for him. Both girls started laughing make him feel slightly embarrassed. The bell rang and a small flood of students entered the class room, just before the teacher did.About 20 minutes into the class Y/n got board and lent over her desk, whispering to MJ.
"this class is extremely boring. I mean why do we even have to learn this stuff? It's not like we are ever going to use it." MJ snickered at the sudden comment from her friend, which grabbed the teachers attention.
"Something funny Ms.Jones?" He stated looking back at the normally quite girl.
"Uh nothing. Nothing. Just thought of something I read earlier today." She said hoping her teacher wouldn't see through her lie. He didn't. Of course he didn't, he's a man. The lesson dragged on and Y/n kept mostly quite trying not to get her quite friend in anymore trouble. She looked at MJ- her quite, reserved, and hilarious friend. She looked at Ned- her goofy, polite(ish), friend that just so happens that to be Peter's first best friend. Then, she looked at Peter- the smart, brunette boy, who could always make her laugh, and had a wonderfully adorable smile. She quickly caught herself staring at the smart boy, who was very focused on his work, and looked away. She glanced at the clock then back at Peter, her Peter. The bell rang and the students rushed out into the hallway, eggar to be out of the class room. The four friends walked out together continuing on to their next class. They had almost every class together except for their second and last classes. This class so happened to be the one right before lunch, which of course made it feel so much longer. Y/n was dreading going to class but with her friends there, maybe it wouldn't be so bad, right?
Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.
Oh boy was she wrong. The experiment today, in science, was a baking soda volcano. A super simple and easy volcano and with Peter as her partner, it should have gone extremely smooth. Regardless, Y/n still accidentally messed it up. When Peter told her to and the very last ingredient, baking soda, she added just a little bit to much. Then poof!!! The foam was everywhere. On her, Peter, the table, the floor, everywhere. Peter looked amazed at his best friend and how she managed to do that. On the other hand, their teacher was pretty disappointed. Most of the students were still working on their experiments' but Y/n did have a few eyes on her."Stark! What the hell were you thinking? Clean this up then lunch detention,"The science teacher yelled. By now, the girl had everyone's eyes on her. Her checks were flushed and she ducked her head down to hide her embarrassment. Mr.Harrington walked to his desk, rubbing his hand up and down the back of his neck. "Pfft the daughter of a scientist and she can't even do a simple volcano." He muttered not audible for the whole class but just enough for her and Peter to hear.
The girls head immediately snapped up, thinking of something to shoot right back at him. Before she got to Peter was already pulling her out of the classroom to go get a mop or something, he wasn't really sure he just knew he needed to get Y/n out of there.———————————————————————————
