"P'Arthit? Stop pouting and thinking too much," Kongpob chided his mate. They were currently at Kongpob's dorm, cuddling on the bed.

Arthit was still shaken from the revelations from the dinner earlier in the evening. Adding to that the subsequent sort of cold war between their mothers, he was feeling so frustrated that he wanted to cry.

"I can't help it. I just want something peaceful between us and our families. I had prepared myself for overprotective parents and families but I didn't expect this type of drama between our mothers. I should've expected it because of my mom's previous reactions about your company. Now we've got to endure awkward family dinners and gatherings! Geez."

"Calm down, P'. Calm down..."

"Kong, how are you so calm?!"

"I am not calm at all, P'. I'm also freaking out. I'm just not showing it because you're already freaking out—"

"I'm sorry," interrupted a stricken Arthit. Kongpob smiled kindly at his boyfriend, caressing his face with the back of his fingers softly.

"It's okay. I don't mind. Like khun mae said, we share the responsibility of taking care of the other in this relationship. I have a better handle of my emotions right now so I am the one doing the comforting," he answered a bit cheekily. Arthit pinched his side, making him yelp in pain. He glared at the snickering senior and decided to tickle him in retaliation. That was how he found out that his head hazer was extremely ticklish and he had a fun time making the other laugh.

His tinkling laugh filled the room, probably disturbing their neighbors in the process, but Kongpob didn't think any of that at that time. His focus was on lightening his mate's mood, and nothing else.

They went to sleep, feeling a little bit lighter than after the older voiced out his frustrations, Kongpob sharing the sentiment. Cuddled in each other's embrace, they stopped thinking about their future for a while, and focused instead on each other and their present.

The couple decided to postpone their mating as long as they could, waiting until the semestral break came around. They told everyone about this, their friends, their parents, and Kong's doctor, Wayo. The latter monitored his patient closely, with Kongpob checking in almost daily with him.

Their parents made an effort to make the amends, or rather, their fathers made the effort to bridge the gap between their wives, with the help of the meddling sisters of Kongpob, of course. Arthit's prediction about enduring family dinners and gatherings came true, and after each event, he and Kongpob would return to one or the other's dorm, clinging to one another and soothe their frustrated hearts.

One silver lining of their situation was that, they were too tired to bicker in front of the student body during freshmen gatherings, making the students wonder about the sudden change in demeanor. Khaofang, despite her bravery during her standoff against the head hazer, didn't tell anyone about them being mates, so everyone was only speculating and didn't have definitive proof.

Their friends, though, were quite happy with this development because it meant that they wouldn't be defusing the sexually charged public confrontations of the two. Honestly, their mating dance was very weird and very unconventional, it was making their heads ache.
