The supposed meeting after the arrest of one Dax Sisom didn't push through as this news ruffled a lot of feathers and the shareholders were clamoring for an explanation. Potential investors too, second guessed themselves since the eighteen percent drop in the stocks was beaten by the following drop of twenty-one the following day. The business world was in upheaval since one of the biggest conglomerates seemed to be not doing well.

Kannika and Kerkklai started damage control immediately, commandeering their PR department to keep a tight lid on the affairs going on inside the company, which would only cause more uproar in the community. They also set meetings upon meetings with foreign investors to reassure them and update them on the situation.

At the end of their very tiring week, they were ready to throw the towel and just say 'fuck it!', but thinking about the number of employees that would lose their jobs kept them going. They continued to talk to the potential investors that were hesitating and managed to convince some of them to do business with them again.

They also went through with their plan of weeding out the other rotten parts of the board and sent their compiled findings to all of the shareholders for their review. Hence, the uproar and the emergency meeting being called the week after the arrest.

So now, here they sat, the two accomplices of Khun Dax in the hot seat, gritting their teeth and glaring at the couple. The shareholders all looked accusingly at their appointed board of directors, demanding them to start explaining what was happening in their company.

Kannika began the meeting, since she was still the CEO, with Kerkklai by her side, supporting her. She explained how, with the previous eighteen percent drop that occurred because of them losing investors and accounts in the past had been orchestrated by the opposing body, citing different parts of the documents that they mailed them the week prior.

Of course, the two accused denied this, both Siriwat and Phawin. They claimed that the documents had been forged and untrue to tarnish their names in light of the previous board of directors' meeting, since they had been the blatant supporters of Khun Sisom.

They got shocked though, when Khun Aom, one of the directors, admitted to being bribed by the three to support them during the previous meeting. The mates, already knowing about hers and two others' involvement regarding the matter, sat stoically on their seats, not really giving away their surprise at this development. The two others stepped up, too, both Khun Channawat and Khun Bussaba, spilling the beans now that their chosen CEO wasn't anymore eligible for the position and was now considered a disgrace in the business world.

Kannika couldn't stop a lone eyebrow from rising.

Some shareholders began to question even the credibility of the current CEO and chairman, because they let something like this to transpire, but the couple remained stoic and didn't comment on this. The other shareholders, the ones who had been in business for a long time, dispersed this thought themselves and began to explain to those skeptics that the response of the couple to this situation, basing on all the information that had been provided to them, had been quite satisfactory to them.

The other board members also seconded this claim and Kannika had half the mind to just tell them that she really wanted them to fire her, or something with her claim about spending more time with her youngest baby being true. She wanted to just be the CEO at the start-up, which was her son's brainchild and to watch over him, since he was now working there (for the time being). Having a headache because of a bunch of old people's greediness wasn't what she wanted at all.
