As the last week of December before their winter break came to a close, more and more exams arrived, causing stress among the high school students. The kids couldn't wait for it to end and finally have a break from it all.

Olivia was pacing around her room, thinking about the calculus exam she had taken earlier that day. Knowing that math wasn't her strong suit, her nerves had gone through the roof. Although her boyfriend repeatedly told her that she didn't have to stress over it, she did the complete opposite.

"Liv, come sit down, please, and try to calm down." Spencer tried to calm her nerves. "No, you don't get it. This was one of the hardest tests we've had to take this year, and not passing it would mean failing this semester, and that can't happen." Olivia rambled on.

"I know and I understand that. You did the best you could with the materials that you were given," Spencer said, hoping she would sit down. Finally calming down a little, she took a seat next to him on her bed.

"Hey, why don't you and I take a break from the chaos of the world and go do something fun tonight?" Spencer suggested. "Something fun? Like, what exactly?" she asked in response. "It can be anything you want, as long as it makes you happy."

Olivia thought for a while and remembered that while studying for one of her exams downstairs in her living room, she landed her eyes on an ice skating flyer that her brother had picked up.

"There's an ice skating rink down in Santa Monica that's open." Olivia thought back to the flyer she had spotted earlier. Spencer smiled and nodded at her idea. "Well then, let's do it! Just me, you and ice skating."

After almost 30 minutes of driving, the pair had finally arrived at their destination. The indoor rink was filled with colorful lights and decorations.

They paid the price and received their ice skates. Then they headed to the rink hand in hand to have some fun.

As soon as they got in, Olivia noticed that Spencer couldn't stand on his own two feet. All of a sudden, her boyfriend's legs couldn't contain a balance of their own. Thankfully, she had more than enough balance for the both of them.

Not trying to look as if he didn't know what he was doing, he nervously chuckled. "I think you can let go now." Olivia nonchalantly nodded, trying not to show her concern, and did as he wanted. The second she lifted her hand off of his, he lost his balance and almost fell on his face.

She quickly grabbed his hands and stopped the fall. "Maybe you should hold on to me some more," Spencer admitted. "Yeah, I think so too," she laughed.

The couple enjoyed their shared time together and continued to have fun as best they could, trying not to fall down anytime Spencer's legs decided to give out.

After spending almost 2 hours there, they heard over the speakers that the rink would be closing in less than 20 minutes and started to gather themselves, getting ready to leave the cold and beautiful rink. Laughter was heard amongst them as they were walking out.

They approached Liv's car as she met his gaze and opened her mouth to speak. "Thank you." "What for? I didn't do anything."He replied with a confused expression.

"For this tonight, for suggesting that we go out. I definitely needed to take a step back and just do something relaxing and fun." She said in an appreciative tone.

"I was just tryin' to take your mind off everything," Spencer responded softly with a smile. "You did. You made me feel a lot better, actually." she expressed, as they leaned in to share a sweet kiss.

Olivia slowly pulled back, breaking the kiss, and thinking back to the numerous times her boyfriend had almost taken them to the ground inside the rink.

"Hold on, I can't let the night end and not mention how horrible you actually are at skating." She laughed, "If I had known, I wouldn't have picked for us to go ice skating."

"No, it's fine, I um, definitely learned something new today." Spencer laughed at her mention. "But c'mon, I couldn't have been that bad."

"Oh yes, you were definitely bad. Now get in, I'll give you a ride back home." Olivia offered, and they drove off into the night.
