Rosalyn, the new Queen of Borealis has had her nose stuck in books all day, studying up on things she was never taught, in her personal library.

Rosa flips a page on a massive book and sighs. What is the use of all of this, anyway? What does she think she's getting out of staying in this dusty library? She yet still continues to read, like she does to take up time, at least until Rin comes back with the garments she asked for.

That's when Rin comes in. Rin, her guard, best friend, and honestly, her only friend. She, after all, is the only one left, and the only one she's truly had.

"Oh, Rin! Did you get them?" Rosa asks as she stands up off of her desk chair. Rin holds out the garment bag in which the clothes are in and Rosa looks at the bag, then Rin, then the bag again. "What did you do?!" Rosa fumes as her eyes scan all of the dirt smudges and rips on the garment bag. She furrows her eyebrows and crosses her arms.
"Did you fistfight with someone? Rin, I asked you to do-" Rin cuts Rosa off with a simple, yet irritating "long story." And she wags the bag in her hand. "Oh, I have the time," Rosa replies back in an irritated tone and cocks her head to the side.

Rin sighs and sets the bag down, "While I was--" she pauses and looks down at the bag she ruined, "--while I was walking back... This weird girl, like, ran behind me..." She shakes her head in disbelief. "Yes, I'm sure that happened." Rosa teases, but Rin points a finger at her, in a way which Rosa took as "shut up".
"Anyways, she kept begging me to help her escape, and so... I did." Rin leans against the desk as she continues her story, "She was running away, and so I had to run away with her..."
Rosa scoffs and shakes her head. What an elaborate way of getting out of whatever reason Rin had for ruining her dresses, right?

"So, then we were climbing up this ladder, and the dumbass fell and broke her arm... Not very athletic at all, really." She laughs a little as she remembers what happened, but then her face changes to concern for what comes next. "Rin, what happened?" Rosa quickly becomes concerned, and suspicious too and she inches her face closer to Rin's, looking straight into her one good eye.
"So... now-she-is-kinda-in-the-infirmary!" Rin blutters out quickly in a worried, high pitched voice

Rosa groans and puts a hand on her face, taking in what Rin did. "Rin!" Rosa snaps. "What could I do? Leave her?! " Rin retorted angrily, and Rosa furrows her brows just in the way her father used to do. Rin recoils backwards, shocked at the similarity. "Y-you took her back here?" Rosa starts pacing. She did not want unknown, random children off of the street. Especially ones that could be dangerous.

"She's harmless, I swear!" Rin puts her hands up in defense, and Rosa sighs sharply. "Listen, You wanted me to get your clothes, and I did. You should be happy." Rin grabs the garment bag and shakes it to make a point. "Well, I suppose I should see who this strange child is... Who knows, by now she could've, I don't know, killed someone, or made an awful mess." Rosa gestures aggressively and walks towards the wooden library door. Rosa looks back at Rin and purses her lips, frustrated. "Well, come with me."

Rin and Rosa walk into the infirmary, a long grey room with a line of firm beds, and long windows. Not many decorations are placed in the depressing room, and it always feels cold in there, so Rosa likes to stay out. She scans her eyes across the beds and lands on a girl sitting on one of the beds.
Rosa stops in her tracks as she watches the maid next to her wrapping one of the girls arms, and Rosa's eyes drift to the girl. She stares slightly angled down at the floor, thinking hard about something, looking anxious. Something about her makes Rosa's knees slightly weak, and her breathing shallow.
When Rin said"girl", Rosa did not picture someone so close to her age, maybe even older.
She expected a child.
