Chapter 4: Deja Who?

[Nicole's POV]

"Oh, look who just bumped right into us girls." Angel dramatically said. Angelica Belle, a rich spoiled brat, she does nothing but flirt. she's the type who thinks that she's the prettiest and most popular girl at our school...when she Isn't.

"Oh, it's just you." I said with annoyance. "We don't have time for you, so get out of our way." she said while gesturing with her hands, as of to shoo me away. I really wanted to punch her face, she acts like she owns this place. I moved out of their way. then she finally said "Peasant!" then Cassandra moved forward, "Whore!" The girls turned around to see who said that, "What did you call me?" Angel said while pointing at herself. "Are you deaf? She said your a b*tch!" A girl wearing a long sleeve shirt and jeans with ripped knees appeared and said. "The nerve!" Angel replied.

Denise Poasa, my other bestfriend. had a tough past, which made her into a tough tomboy. rumors say that when she was in middle school, she won 99 1-on-1 fights against boys without losing, sounds unbelieveable, right? still don't what happened to her 100th streak. and she can't stand intimate and sentimental stuff.

"What, you wanna fight against me?" Denise said, grinning while holding her fist, crunching it. the girls were just staring at her, some of them were shaking. "Hmph, w-we don't have time for you dogs. let's go girls!" Angel said nervously. surely she's the one that spread rumors about Cassandra and Denise last week. Saying that Cassandra used to date alot of guys, which is true, she is quite popular around boys. And saying that Denise was a delinquent, and not only did she beat up students, she beat up teachers and staffs. but she didn't seem to mind, maybe because studs around here respect her because of her reputation.

"Hey thanks Denise!" I said. "Hmph! late again!" Cassandra added. Denise just held her forehead and grinned. "Ya know, that's gonna cost you." She jokingly said. Cassandra laughed and winked at her. "Hey, let's go already! I'm freakin' hungry!" Denise loudly said. we went to the cafeteria.

We sat at our table, "Ugh, Denise, You eat too much food , you know." Cassandra said. "Hey, I'm gonna need food if I'm gonna fight and protect you two. and besides, I'm growing, I need nourishment!" Denise replied. I was looking around and at the entrance, Shane and Kim walking in. They walked towards us. "Hi girls, it's a bit too early for lunch don't you think?" Shane said. "You got a problem?" Denise said. "Where's Nathan?" Cassandra asked. "Oh, he didn't come with us. he said that he isn't in the mood to be walking around the campus." Now that they mentioned Nathan, I did see him sleeping. "Hey guys, I have to go. I need to get something." I said. "Where're you going?" Shane asked. "I have to get something, I'll be back." "Ok, but hurry up, I'm gonna need help with my test." Denise said.

I walked out of the cafeteria and went to our room. I went in and saw there at the back, Nathan. He was still sleeping, I just checked if he put cockroaches on my locker again, but he didn't move where he was. Hmm, maybe I should go to him, I slowly walked towards Nathan, and I looked closely if he was really sleeping. Hmm, I wonder...I looked at his sleeping face and noticed something, he was breathing heavily, and his face is red, he was also sweating. I put my hand on his forehead and, oh my...he was hot...He has fever. "What do you want?" Aaaaah! That was surprising..."Why didn't you stay at home?" I curiously asked. "I'm not going to answer that." He replied. Seriously, what's his problem? "Let me take you to the infirmary." I offered. Maaan, Why'd I say that, this might be one of his traps! "I'll go there myself." He said. whew! that was relieving. I didn't say anything and went out of the room.

I went to the cafeteria, and and saw that no one was there but the staff. one of the teachers called me. "Nicole? what are doing here? you're supposed to be at the school gym." Eh? school gym? "Why? what's at the gym?" I asked. "We dunno, the principal just asked all the students to go to the gym." Hmm, must be important, I ran to the gym hoping not to miss anything the principal might want to say. And at the entrance, Denise and Cassandra were waiting. "There you are, C'mon!" Cassandra said.

We went in and sat at the bleachers. somebody tapped at my shoulder, I turned around to see who tapped me. "Hey!" it was Shane. "Oh, hey!" "You know what's going on here?" Shane asked. "Umm, no." The principal arrived and asked all of us to settle down. "Alright, students, teachers, staff, and the guy with a moustache." He jokingly said, all of them laughed, our principal is the kind, funny, and open to us. "Today, asked all of you to come here at this gym. I have something to announce to all of you. We, at Kaimuki high, will be having a 1-week vacation!" The people cheered after hearing it.

"Alright, 1 week of no classes!" Denise exclaimed. I looked behind me but instead of seeing them being excited, Shane and Kim looked worried. "Hey you guys, aren't you excited?" I asked them. "We are, but Eth's not here." Shane replied. "Where is he anyway?" Kim asked. Now that they mention him, he did say he'll go to the infirmary...Did, did he really go? I have to check out the infirmary! As I was about to get up, Cassandra held me by the hand. "Hey, where're you going?" She asked. "I'm going to check our room." "Eh? why, did you forget something?" "Yeah, it's my...Notes!" I replied, Cassandra stared at me with a curious face. "Ok, but come back here at the gym, ok?" She said, I nodded and went out of the gym.

As I was on my way to the infirmary, I just remembered something. all of the staff are at the gym. Instead of going to the infirmary, I ran to our classroom. And inside, again...He's still sleeping?! >_< "Hey! get up! I'll get you to the infirmary!" I shouted at him. but, he didn't reply. is he, unconcious? I tried poking him at the sides and back, he didn't budge. I really need to get him to the infirmary. I carried him, and had a hard time doing it. I put his arm around my neck, then I started to walk towards the door.

Here we are, in front of the infirmary, luckily, one of the school nurses is here, she told me to put him on the bed. the nurse went to the other room to get some things. I checked my phone, You have 1 new message.

"Hey Nikki, we're waiting for you at the gate, hurry up okay?"

"OTW."(On The Way) I replied to her. I was gonna leave the infirmary until, Nathan held my wrist. "Ni...cole..." I faced him and then "The...Promise..." Huh? what promise? He started to get something from his pocket, an old weary ribbon? he handed it to me. then he closed his eyes. I looked at the old ribbon...Geez! it gives me the creeps! I feel something, weird. Something familiar, Deja Vu? anyway, I hid the ribbon in my pocket and went to the gate.
