Tomura Shigaraki - (~1,000 words)

(y/n) was on the precipice of death as the monster neared ever closer. Engulfed the darkness of the night, they could barely navigate through the dense trees and foliage. Without realizing it, (y/n) had run to the wall of a cliff. Being completely cornered, they had no choice but to turn around and face the monster head on.

Only armed with a small carving knife, they didn't stand a chance. After just a few seconds, they met their inevitable end. They were met with one final jumpscare from the monster, eliciting a scream that was cut short by the claws of death.

...

GAME OVER
Retry     Quit

"God dammit!" (y/n) exclaimed, frustrated at dying for the 5th time trying to pass the final stage of the horror game Shigaraki had forced them to play.

"Do you want me to finish the game for you?" Tomura said laughing.

Pissed at his lack of confidence in them, (y/n) refused to accept defeat. They selected the "retry" option on the screen, prepared for the cutscene and following chase scene. Having repeated the same 10 minute course so many times, (y/n) pretty much knew the in-game route by heart. The only problem was that the player's character had a very small window to press the button sequence and kill the monster.

"Please, last time you played you dusted the good controller. Maybe if you had a little more faith, you wouldn't be stuck watching me play for an hour." (y/n) replied, beginning the game's cutscene.

"I like watching you play." He bounced back.

Slightly confused at his words as he wasn't normally one to display verbal affection, or any affection for that matter, (y/n) brushed it off as a miscommunication and focused their attention away from the boy and back to the screen.

The silence in the room following their short conversation wasn't uncomfortable. If anything, the tension in the room had grown a bit, but it was nothing too thought provoking from (y/n)'s perspective.

With the cutscene still set to continue for another minute or so, (y/n) set the controller down and stood to re-fluff the pillow that had been placed under their elbows as they played. While the floor wasn't particularly uncomfortable, it did make it pretty strenuous on their neck and arms to constantly be held up to face the monitor that had the game on it.

"Y'know, maybe if you had better posture it would be easier to play." Shigaraki commented.

"Maybe if you laid on the floor and let me use your cushy, fancy gamer chair my posture would be better." (y/n) retorted instantly. After being friends with the crusty boy for a few years, replying to his comments had become second nature to them.

Pausing for a few seconds, Shigaraki responded in a way that confused (y/n) to a great degree.

"Why didn't you just ask?" He responded, clearly being his snarky self in the way he always did when it was just the two of them playing video games in his room at the L.O.V. hide out.

Looking back in the few seconds before the commencing game play, (y/n) saw Shigaraki stand up from his chair where he had been sitting to watch them fail at playing through the game, and look at them expectantly. Still in the process of structuring the pillow, (y/n) dropped it immediately, leaned down to scoop up the controller, and basically leaped into the chair.

Instantly, they felt the comfort that the chair had promised many times before. With the cutscene ending and the chase scene beginning, (y/n) didn't have much time to fully appreciate the fancy chair before they had to divert their attention to the monitor. Preparing all of their fingers by placing them on their respective buttons in preparation of the complicated button sequence, the chase started.

Almost instantaneously, (y/n) navigated the familiar path to the cliff wall, and prepared to turn and face the monster. Bracing for the disappointment of another failed run, they just smashed down all the buttons at once and hoped for the best. To their utmost surprise, the "strategy" actually worked and (y/n) officially killed the monster and completed the game.

Nearly in shock, they just sat silently on the chair in amazement, fingers still pressing down on all of the controller's buttons.

"This is why you should always trust in the power of a quality gaming chair." Shigaraki said suddenly from the spot he had adopted on the floor, resting his head on the pillow (y/n) had been using. This broke (y/n) out of their shocked state.

"I DID IT!" They yelled out suddenly, surprising Shigaraki with their sudden noise.

After a few moments of celebratory jumping around the room, (y/n) paused, appearing in deep thought.

"Hey... why didn't you tell me that you didn't have to press the buttons in the order on the screen?" They asked slowly, turning to face Shigaraki and taking a few steps towards him.

"Maybe I didn't know either... or maybe I just liked watching you struggle pointlessly." He said nonchalantly.

"Oh, I see..." (y/n) said, trailing off at the end.

Suddenly, Shigaraki was met with a PS4 controller hurling full speed towards his face. Reacting quickly, he held up the pillow to deflect the projectile, refraining from decaying the only working controller he owned.

"YOU PIECE OF SHIT!" (y/n) screamed at him, searching for more weapons to throw at the boy.

He simply cackled in response, holding his shield at the ready to deflect more weapons. As the two play-fought, they heard a voice call from the main area of the hideout.

"Keep it down guys! We're doing important planning. Also, Shigaraki, you better not be bullying (y/n)!" Called the voice.

"Alright, sorry Kirogiri!" (y/n) yelled in response while simultaneously hitting Shigaraki over the head with the stolen pillow.
