"Ryujin, don't stay up too late watching dramas!" Chaeryeong's voice falls deaf on the girl as the black-haired girl lets out a noncommittal grunt in response before closing the door.
It's true, she was probably going to stay up late. Perks of having her own room, she thinks gleefully.
The girls had just settled down after returning home from dance practice and having dinner together. Since it was only around 11 PM, they each took advantage of the little free time they had to do what they wanted before heading to bed.
It's been hectic lately with the holidays approaching quickly. Not only are they anticipating the lovely season but also the year-end shows and festivals that come with it. Despite the lack of rest, Ryujin enjoys being able to show new sides of Itzy to the public and especially to Midzys. A smile never fails to emerge on her face when she sees the excitement their fans have for their performances at the festivals.
After tying up her black hair into a messy bun with a few strands framing her small face, Ryujin jumps into her bed and grabs her phone from under her pillow. She settles down comfortably under her duvet before proceeding to check on any updates.
"Read webtoons or start a new drama?" She mumbles to herself, genuinely outweighing the better of the two options.
Self aware of her bingeing habit, the girl decides to choose neither for tonight and opts to watch some YouTube videos instead.
Minutes later, if anyone were to press their ear against Ryujin's door, they'd only hear her cooing and giggling over cat videos. Ah, suddenly she misses Dallie and Byullie. She makes a mental note to call her parents to check on them tomorrow.
It's only when her current video ends that she notices the recommended videos under. Her gaze falters on one specifically, however, and Ryujin doesn't even hesitate when she taps on the thumbnail.
The KBS staff did a good job at choosing the thumbnail.
As soon as the video starts, a smile breaks out on her face.
It's Beomgyu with the cutest expression on his face as he wriggles around in his orange tracksuit. Because this was a fancam, she was able to watch him much better than from when she was in the waiting room at the time of the filming.
Now Ryujin was never one to give a big show of reaction in front of others, but because she was in the comfort of her room, she's able to do whatever she wants. That includes her wiggling around her bed when she catches Beomgyu smiling brightly and jumping around like a little kid.
Even after a year of dating, she still hasn't left the honeymoon phase with him.
The girl watches the rest of the video diligently, gasping every now and then at the duality of her boyfriend. Ryujin understands completely how Midzys and other fans feel now when they watch Itzy on stage.
After taking multiple screenshots, she doesn't wait any longer to complain to the person who is at fault for making her become far too giddy this late at night.
And yes, she's found her new favorite picture to set as his contact image on her phone.
