She was all cosied up in her pyjamas playing a game of wizard's chess in the living room against her father, her mother spectating (it was games night and the Potters, Pettigrews and Lupins were busy) when an owl flew in gracefully, perching on her left shoulder. She reached for the unexpected letter with her right hand to find green writing on the envelope. She felt a sudden chill since she recognised the handwriting.
"What's wrong dearie?" Callidora beckoned "you seem like you've seen a ghost"
"Maybe she has" Sirius chuckled as he received a playful hit to the chest in response.
"It seems to be that I've gotten my Hogwarts letter already"
"Why, really? You're only turning ten this year, I'm not even sure if it's possible. How about you open it up and check - for good measure - and then, perhaps come to the conclusion that this has happened" Callidora suggested in efforts to calm down her daughter. The confused girl hastily opened said letter, only to find what she had feared.
She would be a year younger
She would be unprepared
She would be
"Going to Hogwarts"
