Fundy ran through the large door pulling Dream beside him. He had thankfully grabbed the pastry and berries before running out of the bakery.
The school Yogurt attended nestled serenely within the woods, a sanctuary blending seamlessly with nature's embrace. Beyond its veil of greenery lay a haven for hybrid children, a place where the sunlight danced amidst a hidden home, offering both shade and secrets.
While gaining entry proved challenging, once within its embrace, students were immersed in a curriculum that celebrated their unique heritage. Dedicated teachers imparted lessons on hybrid history, unraveling the tapestry of their ancestry, while guiding them to understand and appreciate their own distinctive traits. Some mysteries were reserved for parental explanation, but fundamental instincts found clarification within the classroom walls
"I'm here to pick up Yogurt Blade," he said to the sweet old lady who worked at the front desk.
"Right at your normal pick-up time, Funds!" She tested, turning to a little microphone at the front desk. "Yogurt Blade for pick-up at the front desk, please."
"Fundy, can I talk to you for a moment?"
"Of course."
"Are you Fundy's spouse?" asked a female teacher, who came out the door holding an albino fox hybrid in her arms—Yogurt.
"Papa!" Yogurt practically jumped out of the caretaker's arms when he saw his dad.
"Pup!" Dream watched as Fundy picked up the small fox with ease.
"Mr.?" The desk woman poked his shoulder, effectively getting his attention. "How do you know Yogurt?"
"I don't," the woman's eyes widened.
"I— I know Fundy though!" he quickly finished.
"How do you know Fundy?" the young woman who had taken Yogurt out said. He looked at
Fundy for an answer; he didn't want to answer himself after almost being killed by Fundy's aunt. Talking with Yogurts Teacher to notice Dream's distress, something about never bering tardy again. He felt a finger touch his back.
"Maybe he's looking for a mate..." some sort of dog hybrid said, touching his chest, looking up at him, and realizing his helplessness.
"Want my number?" she said with teeth-rotting sweetness in her voice.
"No, he doesn't," Fundy finally heard something."He doesn't seem to mind," the pinkette growled at Fundy.
"He has a fiancée," Fundy pushed her off him.
"I don't see a ring," she grabbed Dream, he stepped away for a moment only to be practicly pounced on again.
"I— I do have a fiancée." Dream once again clarifed
"You don't seem to care for her," She didn't move from her now proclaimed spot on her cheast, deciding to rest her head on his cheast
"I do respect him" Dream stated
"He doesn't need to know," she sashayed over to him, placing her hands on his chest again, making Fundy angry, she was being so disrespectful, he said no, and that he was involved, the audacity.
"Well you see darling, his fucking fiancee is right here." he pushed her off Dream picking up Yogurt and grabbing Dream's hand
"Have a nice night Kelly!" Fundy yelled back to the old woman at the front desk
"You too Fundy" Kelly yelled back at him turning to the pink-haired person "Hecate we have talked about-"
Dream stared at Fundy pulling him forward further from the small school. Fundy was royakty all right, especially when he was mad. Dream could hear the resemblance between him and King Wilbur. it was kind of atractive. Maybe being atracted to jelosy was dreams toxic trait but he wanted to see fundy like that again-
"Are you getting married to Papa" Yogurt asked unexpectedly, when they had gotten to the fountain, near where Leah's family had been, interrupting Dream's les then pure thoughts
"I am," Dream said
"So do I get two Dads"
"I- No?" Fundy sais before ducking into the ally that lead to the cliff, going back for a small track through the woods, the winding allys only leading to more winding questons from the youngest of the group.
"Jeramy has two dads, I want another"
Fundy grabbed the side of the cliff with one hand, hoisting himself up.
"Why?" Fundy asked
"Jermy says all the cool kids have two dads"
Dream watched for a minute. Then he flew up. Scooping up Fundy and Yogurt, holding Fundy in bridal position with Yogurt on his lap.
"DRE-!" Fundy screeched as he flew higher ignoring the fox
"Up up up!!!" Yogurt yelled bouncing with excitement, this is totally what being a cool kid with two dads felt like
"See dad, another dad equals cool" Yogurt declared as they soared up towards the castle.
Fundy's heart pounded with a mixture of anticipation and dread as Dream carried him through the air. Despite the exhilarating sensation of flight, a primal fear gripped him tightly, constricting his chest and sending shivers down his spine. The lack of control, the reliance on Dream's strength and expertise, left him feeling vulnerable and exposed in a way that he found deeply unsettling.
With each beat of Dream's wings, Fundy's grip tightened, his claws digging into the fabric of Dream's clothing with increasing desperation. He could feel the tension in his muscles, the urge to take flight himself, to regain control over his own destiny. But the fear held him back, paralyzing him in a state of helpless apprehension.
As they neared their destination, Fundy clenched his eyes shut tightly, unable to bear the sight of the ground rushing up to meet them. The damp walls of the castle entrance loomed large in his mind, their looming presence a stark reminder of his own vulnerability.
"You can open your eyes now, Fenic," Dream's voice broke through the cacophony of fear that filled Fundy's mind. Slowly, cautiously, Fundy cracked open one eye, peering out into the darkness below.
Relief flooded through him as he felt the solid ground beneath his feet once more, the sensation grounding him in reality. But as he looked down at the claw marks he had left on Dream's back, a pang of guilt shot through him, mingling with the lingering remnants of fear that still lingered in his mind.
"Sorry about that," Fundy muttered, his voice tinged with embarrassment. "I... I guess I'm just not used to being carried like that."
"I don't mind carrying you" Dream said, with a smile hidden behind his mask
Yogurt looked back at them disappointed
"Romance is gross"
A/N not me totally writing this chapter because of my new favourite reader's comments. This was supposed to be a more fluffy chapter...AHHH. Lol, if you read this far, put a b@t in chat. I hope you enjoyed. Tell me if you have any ideas for this story, maybe check out my Ao3 account. I don't have my phone, but I think my account is called not_an_3rr0r. I think.
A/N ...ok there was a hell of a lot of grammar mistakes ok??? I don't even know how I did that, I tried to make some scenes longer, but I'm not quite sure how I feel about them just yet, might edit the whole thing again. I am trying to make the flirting more of a subtle slow-burn type. anyway, life update, My computer broke, so i got a new one and now it makes clicky noises much louder. also writing this is much simpler now that I have been in two romantic relationships. that sounds like I was using my ex's for writing experience, I was not in fact doing that.
