Claire is determined that Neil somehow must've slept with Jessica. She is also determined that Neil loved Jessica, or else if he didn't, he would've left her, or he wouldn't agree to 'go on with their relationship'. Claire feels betrayed, hurt, anger. Probably what her mother said to her was the truth. No one would ever love you like I do, Claire. The words of her mother still echoing in her mind. She doesn't deserve to be loved. Her mother was right. She thought to herself.

6 months left before Neil makes attending. That means, he may or may not be her boss. Definitely a big no of a boss and resident relationship. I'll just move on, forget about him. Maybe we aren't meant to be together after all. My mom was right, I don't deserve to be loved. Plus, even I were to marry Neil, his parents will definitely say NO. I mean, look at him and then look at me. We are like the sky and the earth. We're a different ground. They'll definitely say NO. Claire thought to herself.

At work, it is strictly just work. Nothing about their personal lives is spoken of. Neither Claire nor Neil spoke about what happened in Claire's home the other day.

Claire would try and avoid Neil as much as possible. She'll hear Neil calling for her, be it down the corridor, on the balcony, down the stairs. She will ignore. Unless there's someone around them then she'll answer but when nobody's around she'll turn away.

Claire did this until Neil makes attending.

6 months past by, Neil and Audrey both got a placement in San Jose St Bonaventure Hospital. They both made attending.

They asked for the residents to come out and celebrate tonight. Claire couldn't say no as Morgan kept pushing.

As they arrived at the bar, Claire was the last one to arrive.

"Look who finally showed up." Neil comments, annoyed.

"Uh, I got caught up with something." Claire replies, not making eye contact.

"Oh. Got caught up with something. Is that your excuse? You have to find a better excuse." Neil puts his hands up in defence. From the tone of his voice, Claire knew he had a little too much to drink.

Neil is angry the fact that Claire is ignoring him and acting as if he is a stranger to her.

Claire literally ghosted him all night and talked to the other residents instead.

Audrey was pretty drunk too. Claire suddenly sees Audrey's palm on Neil's chest. Clearly, playing with his buttons.

Claire can feel the anger rushing through her body and she feels as if she could puke to the view she's seeing. Morgan sees Claire tensing up.

"Neil! What the f**k!" Morgan walks up to him.

"It's Dr Melendez to you. Did you forget? I am your superior. You... you're just my subordinate." Neil says cockily. That statement earned him a slap in the face. Everyone was shocked by Morgan's bold move.

"Firstly, can you quit with this formal names. Secondly, you know she is head over heels in love with you. F**king 19 years! You just seem to not want to care about that? Is she just a toy for you? Oh, I bet you love toying with girls huh? What? Is she too poor for you Neil? Is that why you're not treating like how she deserves to be treated? Oh, and you can treat Audrey nicely? Not Claire? Come on jackass, be a gentleman. Give her what she deserves." Morgan says at Neil.

Neil got up from the bar and nods, "I'll give her what she deserves." This time he is drunk to the max, he pulled Audrey and before Audrey could say anything, his lips are pressing on Audrey's lips. Audrey is shocked with his move, but he kissed him back. It has been a long time she waited for this. She had always fantasied kissing his lips but because she doesn't want to lose the friendship, she doesn't act on her fantasy.
