Helios, down to the human realm

[FILE 1.1]: HELIOS, DOWN TO THE HUMAN REALM

The portal between the demon realm and the human realm is suspected to be disrupted. The barrier, a force shield barricade between the two realms that had so far prevented the demons from entering the human realm has now been cracked, and a wave of power from the demon realm has succeeded in penetrating through the barrier.

Humans who reside around the area of the barrier have been polluted by the wave of power from the demon realm. Those whose bodies are polluted, as if suffering from a mysterious disease, started vomiting and having extreme throbbing headaches. The pain worsen by days until eventually they vomited blood and died. Most of the victims were children and vulnerable elderly people.

While several humans who have higher spiritual energy are not affected yet somehow their bodies absorbed the demonic waves, thus, humans with special abilities are created.

Chaos occurred in the spirit realm as the number of deaths increases tremendously and the matter had raised the concern of the gods.

King Yama, the ruler of the underworld, was gritting his teeth in distress. His jaw clenched as he go through the Book of Death one more time.

"Urgh..." He let out a quiet groan before closing the Book of Death with a loud thud.

"Summon Shoki for me," King Yama gave the order to one of his men.

King Yama let out another long heavy sigh as he stare down at the Book of Death in his hand. The human realm is facing danger, he thought to himself, hopefully, Shoki can come up with something.

Lord Shoki, one of the three Lords of Demon-subduer, the vanquisher of ghosts and all evil beings, arrived at the gates of Hell Palace with his apprentice, Helios.

"Helios,"

When Lord Shoki's guttural voice called out to him, Helios turned his gaze towards his Master, silently waiting for him to continue.

"You wait here."

"Yes, Master." Helios bowed his head slightly and only stared as Lord Shoki entered the Hell Palace.

Not long after that, his Master walked out from the palace, appeared to have a thoughtful expression on his fierce wrathful face.

"What is it, Master?"

"The barrier between the demon realm and the human realm has cracked. Humans are polluted by the demonic wave that leaked through the barrier, causing the number of death to increase. Humans dying not as prescribed in the death book," Lord Shoki explained.

"Well... Shouldn't the Celestial Heaven do something about it?" Helios asked.

"This is a matter of the spirit realm. Hell must sort this out."

Helios nodded, understood. The Jade Emperor of the Celestial Heaven doesn't meddle with the spirit realm's cases unless the issue becomes worse and only then will task a deity to sort out the matter.

"Helios, I have a task for you. Go to the human realm and find out the cause of this. And also find out how serious the crack of the barrier is. You have three days." Lord Shoki ordered as they left the Hell Palace.

"M-me...?" Helios stammered.

Lord Shoki explained to Helios that the portal between the demon and the human realm was located underground of a big city in the human world. And that is where the barrier should be.

"I have another matter to solve. I need you to investigate this matter first and report back to me after three days."

Lord Shoki's words repeated in Helios's head. He bowed his head to his Master as he watched him setting out on a hunting expedition, with a retinue of subjugated demons carrying Lord Shoki's sword, household goods, and pots of wine. It seemed like Lord Shoki will be busy for a couple of days.
