Something was... off with Shouyou. Every time the chef called him for breakfast, he'd only groan and fall back asleep. He wasn't as jumpy or cheery as usual, either.

When Bokuto or Akaashi arrived home, Shouyou was always the first to greet them, however, that hasn't been happening this past week. They thought he was sick, so they scheduled him an appointment with the vet.

Today was the morning of, and Bokuto was the first one up because he didn't feel Shouyou's warmth in the bed with them.

"Keiji, wake up..." He pat Akaashi's shoulder, earning a bubbly groan from the male. Shouyou always slept with them on the weekends. It was around two in the morning, currently.

"Shouyou's not here."

With that, the black-haired male sat up and glanced around, waving Bokuto to come with him as they walked through their dark room.

"Shouyou?" Bokuto called through the hallway, a small yelp hardly reaching their ears from the living room. They hastened their steps.

"Shouyou!" They rushed over to the little ginger curled up on the ground, slapping his cheek to wake him up. "Damn it! Get the car and pull it up in front! We're going to the town's 24-hour vet instead!"

Akaashi nodded and rushed out of the living room while Bokuto lifted Shouyou's limp body and carried him.

They had taken him to the hospital a few days before, but the doctors could only give him some medicine and explain to Bokuto and Akaashi that they'd have to make an appointment with the vet.

"Kou..." Shouyou whimpered, eyes trying to flutter close. Bokuto shook him a little, quickening his steps. "Hang on, Shouyou. I know you're tired, but don't fall asleep yet." A great amount of body heat was being released from Shouyou, and he seemed a bit heavier than usual.

Akaashi opened up the passenger door and helped Bokuto and Shouyou inside before climbing into the driver's seat. "Is his fever worse? That medicine was supposed to help."

Bokuto shrugged, obviously distraught as he bounced Shouyou up and down softly. They had a ten-minute drive from their home to the vet, so all they could do was hope for the best.

"Um, who's here for Shouyou?" A veterinarian questioned, and both Akaashi and Bokuto stood, rushing over. She didn't seem as if she was about to deliver bad news, thankfully.

"It's nothing too serious, his fever just made his body weak. And, um, about his weight and nausea, well, you might want to come to into the room..."

They took a glance at each other before nodding and following the short woman to Shouyou's room. "We gave him the proper medicine he needs, so his fever's gone down a lot. We'll send a bottle home with you."
