It Started With A Fall

Chapter 8

I woke up the next morning with the sun shining in my eyes from my balcony window. I sat up in my bed and stretched. I then grabbed my phone and saw a text message from my agency, saying that everyone in the office are taking the day off and suggesting I do the same.

It's actually been a while since I had a day off, I mean even though I had a few days off because I got injured and Hawks made sure I was ok, that kinda didn't count because I didn't get to really relax.

But today, I'm just going to relax and do some other stuff. But I decided to text Hawks to see if he wanted to meet up and do something.

Kayda: hey Hawks, just wanted to see if you wanted to meet up or something and hang out. I have the day off.

I texted him and I waited for him to respond back to me. I set my phone down and walked out onto my balcony and took in the cool morning air. I closed my eyes for a minute and just stood at my balcony.

I was so lost in thought, I didn't hear wings swooping down until I felt a tap on my shoulder and I turned around and I saw Hawks in regular clothes. He was wearing a gray shirt with the words Hawks on it with a golden brown jacket and black jeans and red and white Nikes.

Not gonna lie, he looks really cool in regular clothes, but he looks even cooler in his hero costume. "Hey, I got your text, but you didn't answer so I figured why not fly over and see what you were up to." he said as I blushed a little bit from embarrassment because one, I was still in pajamas and two, I forgot to turn on my ringer for my phone.

"Oops, sorry about that, I forgot to turn on my ringer." I said as I rubbed the back of my neck.

"It's ok, anyways wanna just take a fly through the sky?" he asked me.

"Sure, just let me change into something comfy than my pajamas." I said.

I walked into my room and I walked into my walk-in closet and changed into some clothes. I put on a simple t-shirt that has a dragon on it with some jeans and some black and white sneakers.

I walked out and I saw Hawks in the air, floating with his wings. I stepped up onto the railing and started floating. "You ready?" he asked me. I nodded my head and we started flying over the city. It felt good to actually soar over the city, not having to look for any danger and just relaxing and really enjoying the views.

It was really beautiful, I almost forgot what it looks like from the sky. It's been a while since I've just taken a fly over the city. But it felt even nicer flying with Hawks.
