It took a while for Doctor Glad to arrive on the scene. Milly was hovering over Gorge with concern. He was still unconscious, his heart rate extremely low. The girl, Penny, was taken away by what everyone assumed to be medical staff. Other than Gorge, everyone else on the team seemed fine.
"There's no sense in worrying about Gorge." Sly said, trying to reassure Milly. "How's your leg doing? That seemed like a nasty hit."
Omar had helped her remove the blade. That had left a nasty wound, but the bleeding had stopped almost instantly as the blade was removed. Her leg was just numb, but still functionable. She sighed. "It's fine." She replied without breaking her gaze from Gorge.
"What happened this time?" Kristen asked as she approached them.
"Where were you?" Sly asked curiously. "I saw some of your squad here."
"I wanted to make sure my side was eliminated. Pushed them to the literal corner. Didn't need my entire squad to finish the job, so I sent some here." Kristen explained as she looked down at Gorge. Sly explained what had happened. "At least you didn't mess up this time." She told Sly in what was probably an attempt to lighten the mood. It just didn't work.
Then the one and only Doctor Glad showed up. "At least the damage isn't NEARLY as bad as last time, ay gentlemen?" He got silence as a response, so he just got to work. "Anyone from team four, your leader is fine, so you can just get out of here. None of you have serious injury, so head to the medical tent if you have any issues." There was some grumbling, but people started to move out.
Milly's eyes never left Gorge. She wasn't taking what Sly said to heart at all. The Doctor approached her. "Thank the Barons of the land that you didn't top your performance this round!" He said with glee. "Although, a quick covering of that wound will do the trick."
"I'm fine." Milly stated. "He's the one that needs help!" She looked Glad dead in the eyes and... there were tears in her eyes. This surprised a decent amount of people. Afterall, this was a training exercise. No one thought Gorge was in any serious danger.
Glad held up his hand in a motion to stop. "One problem at a time, Miss." He pulled out some bandages. "This should only take a moment." He tore open Milly's pant leg a bit more to get a better look at the wound. "I assume you were going to get a new pair anyways." He joked. She didn't respond. He frowned in his curiosity. "This is a deep wound." He muttered. "I'll just chalk it up to bad luck."
"Um, uh, what?" Milly asked a bit nervously.
"Oh, nothin." The doctor replied happily as he made quick work to patch up the wound. He put some liquid on it and set down the patch. "The only issue is that most likely leave a scar." He said as he finished up.
"And what about him?" Milly asked, trying to move the attention to Gorge.
"Well, let's take a look." The Doctor gave a quick study of Gorge. "Strange how he hasn't moved at all." He noted and Milly winced. Everyone else seemed to take this in stride, except for Sly. He was also showing signs of slight concern. "Nothing to worry about." Glad muttered in thought. His hand hovered over Gorge's face, as if trying to sense something. He slowly went down to his throat. "What do we have here?" He whispered to himself. He plucked out a needle that was five centimeters long. Its width was almost nonexistent, and Milly hadn't even noticed it was there. No one had. "Shit." He said with astonishment.
"What is it?" Sly jumped in, not able to help a bit of concern entering his voice.
Glad ignored him and turned to a guard. "They have access to these?!" He asked, holding the needle. The guard made no move to respond or answer his question. "Wonderful." He muttered.
