Kim Rok Soo looked around.
Blood.
That was all he could see.
Their corpses was all he could see.
Their closed eyes, which would never open ever again, was all he could see.
His breathing- his breathing alone was what he could hear.
His eyes blanked out.
What was this? Why weren't they opening their eyes?
Where did their smile, that was painted on their face just seconds ago, go?
Where did the promises of traveling the world together go?
W-why...why weren't they moving?
Why weren't they looking at him?
Why were they not talking to him?
Why...
The young boy's lips quivered, his mouth opened and closed for a few times, yet, yet not a single sound came out.
His pupils trembled, yet, not a single tear came out.
His mind blank out, yet, not a single ounce of acceptance appeared.
[-Our son, we love you.
-Rok Soo, survive. Stay...keuk...ugh..... alive, okay?
-Your m-mother and I...keuk, will... be watching you from..... above.]
Kim Rok Soo looked on and on and on.
He took in every detail he could. He looked at them without blinking, fearing that even their remains would disappear, for long enough that his eyes started to burn.
From the way their blood was splattered to the way they were buried.
Standing in front of their graves, with a blank look in his eyes, he never moved. His eyes never moved away from them.
He didn't bother to listen to the others.
Yet, some words that they said, inevitably became engraved in his mind. In his soul.
He could never forget them even in the far far future, where his misfortunes continued.
"Aigoo, look at that child, his parents died and he didn't shed a single tear. What a scary bastard."
"Right? They died because they were protecting him and he doesn't even feel an ounce of remorse."
"Sigh, his parents are so unlucky, they raised such an ungrateful bastard."
"Maybe that is why god took them away so early."
"He's such an emotionless and ungrateful bastard."
But no, the said boy did not have the time or energy to pay attention to his surrounding.
Everything around him felt surreal.
Everything that was happening felt impossible.
Everything that was happening made it harder and harder for him to survive.
Yet, he lived on. He lived on and on and on.
He lived while others died.
The ungrateful, emotionless bastard remained as the only one who survived.
