She'd listened to his brother complain, her friends suspect.
But she couldn't work out what it was,
what was so interesting and captivating,
about Regulus Black.

As the summer air faded into mid autumn winds, the time of the first quidditch game came about quickly.
Emmeline had been stressing all week about the game, and occasionally blowing up when Higgs wound her up about it.
I however was the calm one out of the two of us, although I myself was not looking forward to the monstrosity of a game which would soon be arriving.
We only had one new team member, Lana Wood. Like her older brother Julian, who'd left a few years ago, she was a keeper, but was sorted into Ravenclaw instead of Gryffindor. She was damn good, but our keeper Anthony who was on the team before he left was a little bit better.
She's been a sub for the last two years so she isn't really a new team member, but it's good to finally have her on the team officially.
The game wasn't until tomorrow, but Emmeline was trying to get as much training in as possible.
Which is why I find myself instead of sat in the common room with a warm drink, outside in the cold about to fly off the floor.
"Everybody in the air, we're gonna talk over game plan and then practice, got it?" Emmeline calls out.
Before any of us can get to the air though, a Ravenclaw first year runs over to us.
Emmeline furrows her eyebrows before walking over to him.
She curses under her breath before walking back over to us, shooing him back to where he came from.
"What is it?" Brian Clearwater, our beater, asks.
"Thornthorpe's come down with something and will most likely be off quidditch for the rest of the week." She groans, putting her head in one palm.
Ashley Thornthorpe was our other beater, and we wouldn't be a team without her, she has a powerful hit.
Emmeline goes quiet for a moment and thinks, before speaking again. "We're gonna have to put a sub in, but our strongest is Parker, and he's best in chaser position. Pandora, you originally tried out for seeker position, yes?" She questions.
I can already see where this is going. "Yeah but that was 2nd year and I ended up being a chaser, I haven't practiced in that position since." I argue.
"Oh come on Pandora I've watched you squash the smallest fly ever with your bare fingers which usually no one can spot! You'd be great taking my position if I take Ashleys!" Sometimes I wish Emmeline wasn't also a good beater.
