This happened many years ago. When Kai and Nya were little. Without their parents, they were struggling to even keep food on the table for themselves. One early December, he punished her for using the expensive gold paper they had for important reasons.

He was even more upset when he found out that she had used it for decorating a shoe box, and watched her as she put it under the Christmas tree. He was concerned about where she got the money to get whatever she put in the box.

Nevertheless, on Christmas day, Nya gave the present to Kai, and said in the most happiest, babyish voice, "Dis iws fwor you Kai. Mwerry Chwristmwas!"

Kai felt embarrassed for punishing his sister (he only made her stand in the corner for a bit and collect fish by herself, but still...), and regretted it.

So, he opened the present, excited to see what his little sister made for him.

But when he opened the box, he found that it was empty, and his anger flared (pun intended) up again.
"Don't you know, Nya," he said harshly, "That when you give someone a present, there's supposed to be something in it!"

Nya looked up at him with tears rolling down her cheeks. She felt confused and sad. Kai got angry a lot, but she didn't know why he was angry now.

"But Kai, it's not empty, I blew lots of kisses into it until it was full!!"  She cried, looking up at her brother.

Kai felt... Crushed. How could he be so blind to this? His sister was so sweet and innocent, all she wanted to do was show her love. He knelt down onto his knees and pulled Nya close.

"Please forgive me for getting angry at you Nya, I love you so much, I promise!"

Now they're older. Kai working as a Ninja with his sister. But they couldn't always be together. And they weren't right now. Kai wiped a tear away from his eye. He missed Nya so much. She sacrificed herself for everyone. Sounds like her. It's something she would do. And something she did.

Kai kicked his bed in anger. That's how he was. He was angry. But his temper made up for his sadness. It hid his sadness.

He heard something fall from under the bed. He looked at what it was.

To his utmost shock, it was the same gold box Nya had given him all those years ago.

He opened it, fighting back tears. Of course, there were her invisible kisses, signs of love.
Kai let the tears fall, and held the box close. "I love you Nya... I miss you..."

Lloyd yawned. It was Christmas eve. And after just one night, it would be CHRISTMAS!!! His second proper Christmas with his family and the Ninja, the second in his life. He didn't think he was going to get to sleep.

Breaking him from his chain of thoughts, Cole came in grinning. "Excited for Christmas Beanie?"

Lloyd rolled his eyes. "Don't call me that. And of course I am! I can't wait for tomorrow! I'm practically dying!!!!" He bounced up and down excitedly on his bed.

Cole chuckled at him. "Well, it's just a night away. You should get some sleep, we have a lot planned for tommorow!"

Lloyd sighed. He always had trouble sleeping, but this time, he actually wanted to sleep, so he was ready for tommorow. But how was he gonna do that? He had already looked at many websites and YouTube videos on ways to get to sleep. But none of them worked for him. "Yeah, I'll sleep... Thanks. Goodnight." he said hesitantly.
