I could see him looking at me through the corner of my eye. Well here comes a full-on lecture. I sighed knowing all too well how it would go.

"Alexa Leinah-lee Ellard your interaction with that boy was unacceptable. I did not raise you to go around doing who knows what." A bulge of rage was brewing within me. "Raised me? How do you consider only being home each year for four days every holiday raising me? I work tirelessly getting all A's papa and all you do is breathe on my neck all the time. Need I remind you I'm also human but I am always on my best behavior but never get credit for it."

I gasped in horror clasping my mouth. What was I thinking answering him like that? It seemed to take him some time to digest. "In case you had forgotten how to behave around me, know your place. I pay for all your needs start acting like it." I had enough of it all so I told him to stop the car. He was reluctant at first but he stopped the car. I opened the door and exited.

"Alexa get back in here." I ignored him as I walked along the side of the road. He kept calling out my name but I wouldn't budge. Eventually, he gave up and drove off. I was just glad he was gone for the time being. I stopped abruptly as a drop of water landed on my hand. Cursing under my breath I remembered the morning forecast that had said it would rain heavily today.

"What perfect timing." I sarcastically said trying to make myself feel better.

The water slowly seeped through my clothes as I walked on. Soon enough it was raining cats and dogs and I was completely drenched. I barely noticed a as a car pulled up beside me.

"Lex get in." I looked at the person talking shivering to the bone. "Tyler?  No, I'm completely fine this way. You can go." I kept walking but he steadily followed. Getting out of the car he just grabbed my hand pulling me towards the passenger seat. "Surely I would leave you but this is the least I can do for Lory, she'd be worried sick." I sighed bargaining with myself over what to do. "I don't need your help and if you were more civilized you would realize that this is basically kidnapping. Let go," I said trying to free myself. He smirked smugly and honestly I wanted to slap that stupid smirk off his face.

"I'd consider it more of a surprise adoption or borrowing," with that he carried me over his shoulder as I pounded my fists onto his back. "I'm not a sack Tyler put me down." I demanded but he turned a deaf ear.  By the time we were both in the car I could barely feel my toes. Tyler cleared his throat breaking the silence,"Uhhh so what is with you and Leon?"

I watched him scratch the back of his neck. " What is it to you? He doesn't have anything to do with you anyway."

For the first time he looked quite flustered. How was this the same Tyler I knew back then? I poked him laughing as his reaction changed. "You are flustered aren't you?" He looked red as a tomato so to add to the fire i touched his cheek to check his temperature. At that he flinched knocking my hand off.

" Will you keep your hands to yourself. It was just a stupid question anyway." His mood seemed on edge so I gave in.

" Fine he is my boyfriend since today. Don't expect anymore info." He froze for a second then wrinkled his nose, "Ofcourse Lex the loser would date a loser too." It was my turn now to get upset. "If you don't have anything nice to say shut up." Tyler just laughed anyway, "You haven't changed a bit since elementary school have you? " "I have you blind bat I have gotten taller and smarter anyway."

That sounded so dumb that I even wanted to gag a  bit. " Slick one second best Lex." He smacked my forehead with a finger. "Hey we aren't friends if I were you I would keep my boundaries." I snickered as he laughed. "Scratch that Alexa lets be friends."

"Not a chance you doofus." When he pulled up by our house I opened the door to leave when he abrupty stopped me. Throwing an umbrella at me ,"Oh and Alexa you look like a wet dog. Gifted with brains but no beauty must be hard. Bye." I could see right through the fake smile. Too tired to react  I just closed the door running off to my doorstep.

I smiled rewinding how much of a relief being around Tyler had been after my argument with dad before entering the house. "Lory I told you not to spoil the child. Get her on that GIA programme by tomorrow. Walking straight into a war zone. Kyle was standing by the kitchen counter oblivious to it all.  Tiptoeing to get to the stairs unnoticed I paced to my room. Only breathing properly as i jumped onto my bed. So maybe from time to  time my life wasn't perfect. I just drowned in the music I was playing admitting that I was keeping up this perfect student act to hide my insecurities about my personal life.

I vigorously wrote random calculations down. "X isn't equivalent to pi , the ratios all go together." Who was I trying to fool. I broke down crying lying on the floor craddled up in my own space.

"Its just never enough," I cried out my sorrows completely infatuated with negativity. I'd rather starve myself for a night than go back down there.
