ASSISTANCE? MORE LIKE A TRAP

I went upstairs to my room changed into sweats and headed ahead to the parlor. As l reached for the handle at the door I sighed contemplating over the sort of trouble he would get me into. Considering all this while him being there was at the very least always dramatic.

I walked in strolling as casually as I could master. And there surely enough he was seated by a table in the corner fiddling with a menu sheet. I went straight to him as he looked up to face me. Honestly I'd be a horrible liar if I said the idea of not coming had crossed my mind.

"Took you long enough and here I was thinking you are probably a fast reader." Yup you guessed it there was his signature smirk as he beckoned for me to sit next to him. I grumbled with a sigh getting seated.

"If I am going to be your assistant I have terms and conditions. But firstly the question is how did you get a programme like that from your dad?" At this he laughed pulling a paper out of his satchel. "I think you know I have everything I could ever want and need at my disposal so it was simple, I told him I was doing a friend a favour. Simple as that, But....for the record when someone works for someone it's the employer who organizes terms.

He grinned triumphantly handing me a freaking contract signed and with terms, like seriously how serious was he taking this? I flipped through the pages then stopped on the third page that mentioned that if I broke the contract brief I'd pay him five hundred bucks. "Are you kidding me you actually made a contract and not only that drafted a breach of contract term. You're insane Tyler."

"I'd say I'm just professional so it's either you take it or leave it. I was feeling a bit lenient today so I even lowered the amount." He crossed his arms against his chest leaning on his chair. I'd say I know Tyler is stupid when matters don't involve educational expertise but boy I did not think he would do that.

I gave him a few sloppy slaps as he covered his face. "Lenient my foot, you don't even need money. You're crazy I always knew it." He just laughed it off though watching me scrutinize the contract." "I wouldn't call my boss crazy if I were you and hitting me in any way is an offense that ends today.

Tyler Hersting would be the most craziest person I know and either way he genuinely was taking this way too serious. A gut feeling was telling me this wouldn't end well but you know those times when a force tells you to just go for it, who am I to resist. "Fine I'm in but if you act shady then you have to pay a bigger sum for neglecting employee basics. And you are not my boss."

"Whatever you say assistant. On the shady part well it all depends on what you consider to be shady actually." He smiled like a Cheshire cat straight from Alice in wonderland and creepy it was. "Don't get any ideas Tyler you can't fool me." I said this signing the contract.

Tyler laughed maniacally as I put the pen down. You know how biblically they say there was a brother who sold his identity for a meal well is it valid to say at this point it felt like I sold myself to a human trafficking agency.

"Would you stop being so weird." He just roared laughing as if his lungs would burst. "You absolutely have no idea what you've gotten yourself into second best Lex....no idea." I coughed watching him act as stupid as usual.

A waitress came over by our table asking for our orders. "Peppermint with a berry blast grenade for two." Wait he just ordered my favourite ice cream so casually I didn't remember a scenario where he got to know my favourite ice cream. It's either Tyler had to be a sidekick or a stalker at the very least. I found myself laughing at the thought.

"Paranoid or?" He asked poking my face as if he was analysing a new species. "You just ordered my ice cream special and barely asked me what I wanted."

"We both know you were gonna pick peppermint so......Anyway it's in the contract that as long as I want, you have to eat and drink almost everything I consume, you really should read everything before you sign. He said it with a straight face but his lips twitched and I knew he was going erupt.

At this point it was my turn to burst out laughing, "That is not happening. I'm beginning to think your terms are insane." He shrugged it off as he dug into his bowl of ice cream.

In the end I walked home with a grumpy stomach because he made me eat so much ice cream I wanted to vommit and worst of all he showed no remorse. I got home feeling like trash. Believe me I never indulge in eating too much sweet treats but here I was throwing up all over the place. "Your meeting seems to have gone well." Lory laughed holding my hair back as I vomited my guts out.

She obviously had already heard about the whole thing because it was the first thing she asked about when I got home.

"I officially hate Tyler with my all." I said as I hurled some more. I surely was kinda beginning to think that maybe just maybe it was better to have tried to handle it myself asking for help was not a good option at all. But since I had agreed to it there was no turning back now.

"I'm glad you now have a social life outside of school because high school is all about experiences and how you grow because of them. Just don't slack off in school love." Lory was stroking my hair as I lay my head on her legs whilst she was seated on my bed.

"You know I never slack off. I hate to admit it but Kyle might have been right I really never had a life beyond working." I regretted it as soon as the words came out because Kyle instantly barged in with a smug look.

"Did the infamous Alexa Leinah-lee Ellard just admit that I was right. My day of appraisal has come, I win the battle. Lory and I exchanged disagreeing looks then proceeded to throw pillows at him until he ran off.

"What have I gotten myself into?" I groaned as Lory stood on her feet giving me a knowing glance. I could swear she always sees right through me. She kissed my forehead and left me to my thoughts.

"Today wasn't bad for starters, I have a feeling this job is going great already," that ladies and gentlemen would be the message from yours truly Tyler.  I scoffed at his comment, he knew I had a stomach ache and here he was making a joke about it.

I left it on read getting into my blankets. "You're my assistant at least don't leave me on read your contract says you should answer😂😂" So maybe I should have read every single term but oh well there was no turning back now.

"I'm going to bed Tyler." That was my last message before I dozzed off to sleep.
