Bill glanced back at the clock. Fifteen minutes left, yet somehow it felt like the class was never coming to an end. It was hard to pay even the tiniest bit of attention.
Ten minutes left
He crossed his arms on the table and rested his head.
Just end already, he thought. Why the hell do I need Seaspeak, anyway? I ain't gonna move under the sea.
Five minutes.
His tail flicked back and forth in annoyance. Oh, how he wished he could just stand up and leave. Best he could do was to suffer and wait as his mind drifted elsewhere.
What should I wear? Casual? Formal? Maybe something tight to show off my guns.
He chuckled to himself, his mood quickly lifting as he delved deeper into his thoughts.
Wonder if he'll wear those glasses again. He looks way too cute—
"And that's it for today."
Bill's ears perked. His body straightened up.
"Don't forget the assignments for..."
None of the teacher's words registered in his head after that. His foot tapped the floor repeatedly, waiting until class officially ended.
"Don't run in the halls!"
Finally, they could leave.
He didn't make any detours. His goal was his dorm, and nothing was going to distract him.
"Whoa!"
Until he ran into a certain dall sheep, that is. They almost bumped when he turned around a corner in the hallway.
"What're you in such a hurry for?" said Pina.
Bill's brows furrowed. "Not you— Wait, why're you here? This is the carnivore floor."
He smirked. "Was just delivering something to one of my dear canine friends. Why? Worried about me?"
"No." He huffed, looking away. "...Yes. You shouldn't be here."
"It's fine, I'm just here for a quick stroll. Anyway, back to you." Pina crossed his arms, looking at him from top to bottom. "Is it Jack?"
His heart jumped. "I-I, uh, no. I just... need to grab something real quick."
"Is that so?" His gaze bore into Bill. "Looking for a date?"
His tail stiffened, shoulder tensed. He couldn't think up an answer.
Pina smiled. Walking away, he waved a small goodbye. "Well, be careful on the way. Don't want to bump into anyone else now."
And there he went. Bill breathed out in relief. He spared little thought about that encounter. Thankfully, not much else happened on the rest of the trip.
He entered his dorm, and none of his roommates were there yet. He fished out the best looking clothes he had, making a pile next to the mirror and trying them on once done.
"Looks like I'm going to some office meeting..." He grabbed another shirt from the pile. "This one's gotten too small."
Time passed as he compared them all. Never had he cared for this sort of stuff, yet he couldn't help but want to look his best for today.
"Fuck, why's this so hard?!"
Knocks came from the door. Bill's ears perked as more knocks came. He walked over and opened it. There wasn't anyone there.
