"Hey, kid?"
Caytor gasps and looks up to see the security guard kneeling down in front of him. The boy stares and presses himself against the covers on the door, but they hold their hands up.
"Hey, don't worry. I'm not going to hurt you. Just wanted to know why you were in here after hours." he assures the child. Caytor stares before glancing away.
"A few of my friends dared me to steal a plushie. But the covers got down when I was just standing around, trying to find out about this place." he mumbles.
"Your friends dared you?" the security guard raises an eyebrow.
"Mhm..." Caytor nods his head.
The guard hums before sitting down next to him. It was quiet between the two before the security guard said, "They don't seem like nice friends, kid." he says.
Caytor looks away, and the man sighs and moves back to face Caytor.
"What's your name, kid?" he asks.
"I-I'm... My name is Caytor." he answers shakily.
"Well, Caytor. I'm Gregory. I work here in the Mega Pizzaplex." the security guard introduces himself, placing a careful hand on top of the boy's head.
"Do you have any family that I can ring to pick you up after these covers go back up?" he asks.
"No. I live in an orphanage. But I'll be in big trouble if I go back there after being gone all night." he sighs. "There's a curfew to stay in the orphanage after and during midnight to the afternoon."
Gregory hums quietly. "Sounds like a rule to me." he points out.
"No, it's a curfew."
Gregory stares at the boy for a few seconds before standing up.
"What's this orphanage called again, kid?" he asks
"Um. I-It doesn't really have a name. It's just a large building." Caytor responds. Gregory hums, thinking before looking at him.
"If you're going to be staying for longer than you were actually, want to see around the place?" he asks.
"A-Am I allowed?" Caytor asks.
"Hey, don't worry about it kid. You'll be safe with me." the security guard reassures him. The boy stares at the other's brown eyes, full of sincerity and nothing malicious behind them.
Making up his mind, Caytor picks himself up and Gregory lets him hold his hand as they walk through the entrance and towards the end of the room to get onto the elevators there.
"Say, kid. What is it that you know about the Fazbear franchise?" Gregory asks as the two of them wait in the elevator.
"All I know was that there were many disappearances behind the name. My friends seem to not know about that when daring me to steal a plushie here." Caytor falls quiet, eyes narrowing on the ground.
"Why is it that your friends dared you to try and steal something from a place that was closing?" Gregory raises an eyebrow.
"I-It's not their fault! They didn't know about the place going to be closing at midnight, nor the doors going to be covered. And... this wasn't the first time they dared me to do something." Gregory looks at him before kneeling down, hand tight on his flashlight as he rests his arm on his knee, looking at the boy with a calm expression.
"Were you blamed for whatever they did?" he asks.
"Yeah... I would keep saying that it was a dare, but our orphanage supervisor wouldn't believe me. I'd get into a lot of trouble because of them." Gregory frowns before looking off. "She likes doing favorites, and they were her favorites." he huffs.
"Well, I wouldn't know what to say, kid. I rarely grew up with friends other than this place around your age. I would say... beat them up. But that would legitimately get you into trouble. So... run away from the place?"
Caytor stares at the security guard and shakes his head with an angry pout. "That's a stupid thing to do!" he huffs and punches the man's arm as the other just snickers slightly.
"I may be a security guard, but in your case, I'm not really doing my job correctly. But at this point, I'm my own manager." Caytor glances at the man who gestures at himself as if he was posing, making him snort behind his hands and giggle behind them.
Gregory opens an eye slowly to glance at the giggling boy, making him smile quietly. "But I really mean it, kid. If you really do hate it at the orphanage, and those friends of yours aren't acting how friends are, you've already tried confronting them and nothing seemed to work. And in my years, it's either fight or flight." Gregory says.
"But if I choose to run away, I wouldn't have anywhere else to go." Caytor says.
Before Gregory could respond, the elevator doors opened, and they walked out.
And Caytor screams when something grabs him followed by some sort of screech right in his face.
