If truth be told I blame the monsters in your head. - Leave You In The Dark // State Champs
Dad and Mom were yelling once again and I can hear their shouts through the paper walls making the ground shake. Why do my parents think if I can't see them shouting I can't hear them? Just because they're downstairs doesn't mean I can't hear Mom's pleads or sense Dad's frustration. Sadly for them - and me - I hear every cry, curse, and crack when their hearts break crystal clear.
That's what they do every couple weeks. They fight up to a point where they explode and want to rip each other's throat out. They go up to their room, Mom gets her pillows and sleeps in the guest room. She sneaks out of it every morning before I leave to go to school or walk Sky, our dog.
They think I don't notice but I do. I notice everything.
The thing is they never leave each other, no matter how much pain and suffering is between them. They're stubborn and they want to meet with people's expectations. Mom and Dad think they have to please everyone around them, be perfect, not a flaw in sight. I get that from them, the stubbornness and the feeling of knowing people are judging me, but I never want to be in a situation like theirs.
However I won't ever end up like them so I don't have to worry, there's only one person I love and he will never love me. He's in love with Jade the Barbie hoe.
One second, rewind and let me tell you why Jade's a hoe.
Jade Athena Derosa is the reason why every bad thing has happened in my life and also happens to be my ex-best friend and 3 years running captain of the Eagles cheerleading squad. Apparently cheerleading is the most dangerous sport for females, yet many girls don't recognise injuries or concussion. Unfortunately Barbie hoe hasn't suffered with concussion, yet. I met Jade in kindergarten when things were all fluffy marshmallows and glitter. We were as close as can be for 10 years.
Then High School happened and transformed her into Satan walking in heels.
The girl that used to camp round my house in the summer, braiding my hair, painting my nails and taking photos with Mom's old polaroid camera was gone. The girl that held me tight and baked me cookies when Gran passed was gone. The girl that helped me calm down during in my panic attacks was gone.
When freshman year ended she was gone. She had been possessed by Regina George, Ruby (from Supernatural), and Blair Waldorf (from Gossip Girl) all at once, the perfect demon of suffering and bitchiness. Though I still trailed behind her like a lost dog, I fought to keep our friendship together but there's only so much hurt someone can take.
I used to be fat. Not the type of fat when you can still where skinny jeans and a crop top and still criticised those few extra pounds somehow. I weighed one hundred and sixty-one pounds, more than Westwood High School put together. I was the girl that wore baggy sweatpants and big shirts with my trashy chucks. Not very appealing to young teenagers. I never used to be self-conscious about my weight till Jade changed, I was actually quite okay with it. I never dieted, sacrificed virgins or animals to lose weight, I ate what I wanted to staying inside watching Supernatural and in school I was a ghost, ignored not bullied.
Jade was accepted onto the cheerleading team and magically everyone began to notice me, in a very bad way.
The comments and whispers had begun as Jade and I would walk through the corridors of Westwood High.
'Who's that fatty with that cutie Jade?'
'Why doesn't Jade just tell the lardo to piss off and eat some cake?'
'Ew what the hell is that thing scurrying next to Jade Derosa? A dying hippo!'
Now that one made me cry with laughter.
