Like ships in the night, you keep passing me by. We're just wasting time, trying to prove who's right. - Ships In The Night // Mat Kearney

"It's Violet you douchebag!" I whispered harshly while turning to the algebra section of my textbook. It then dawned on me of what I just did. Oh shit.

"Well looks like Amethyst finally learnt how to use her tongue. Not in the way I would like but winners can't be losers." I made a disgusted noise and turned to do the work in my textbook. He was a pig, exactly what I expected him to be like. And what the hell was with the name thing! God he had only been in the room five minutes and he was already getting underneath my skin. This was going to be one hell of a senior year.

"Red" he murmured while elbowed me in my side and I squealed jumping out of my seat. Oh bumblebees. Now that would have got the attention of Mr Mistry.

"Miss Zanders and Mr Daniels, you both are causing a disturbance I see. Detention tonight in Mr Golden's room. Get back to work and stop flirting with each other." I could feel the heat rush to my face. I was not flirting with that pig.

I turned to my left to see Levi with a sly grin. Even though he was a jerk he was a gorgeous jerk, he didn't need to know I thought that though. I glared at him and he started laughing.

I swear, if I had anything else thrown at me unexpectedly, I was going to explode. His laughter was even richer and deeper than his voice.

I wish I could say that Levi Daniels hadn't grow up to be attractive but I couldn't. Levi was, well, hot. There was no other word to describe him, I decided as I took in his appearance with wide eyes. The picture of him and Sam did not do him any justice.

The disquieting most thing was his height, which was completely obvious. The guy had to be at least 6ft1, maybe even pushing 6ft2. His charcoal hair was ruffled and matted, and he had a silver lip ring that glinted from the light peeking through the blinds.

But the most shocking thing about Levi was his eyes. They were bright, sea green, the piercing kind that made you feel like you were being x-rayed with every passing moment. I remember his eyes being green, but never had they looked like that before.

Even though my legs felt like jelly and I was more than red in the face, I hated him. I hated Levi Xavier Daniels. He had ruined my childhood but he would not ruin my senior year.

"Why the hell did you do that? What the hell is wrong with you Levi, why can't you just leave me alone?" I abruptly asked realising that Levi was just staring at me while looking in deep thought.

"Cause Cyan" he replied, glancing at me up and down. "Opposites attract and Pink you're my opposite."

You have got to be kidding me. The pig was flirting with me. My childhood ruin-er was flirting with me.

"Levi no matter what you do. No matter how much you flirt with me. I will never fall for you. You will always be the boy that ruined my favourite dress with blue paint." Levi looked taken back. He chewed his lip ring still taking in his words. I turned back to my textbook and continued with my work.

I had done it. I stood up for myself. I smiled to myself, gleaming with pride and content. I, Violet Elizabeth Zanders, had finally stood up for myself over all these years.

The bell rang and I gathered my textbooks putting them in my backpack. Although I did come across Levi, he didn't do anything too bad apart from getting me in detention. I mean, detention can't be that bad right? I went to walk out the door but not before I heard his voice.

"I'll see you in detention Orange." I turned around to see Levi towering over me. Dammit I had detention which wasn't so bad but I had detention with him which meant he could annoy and irritate me even more.
