Oneshot- Holidays with Camilo

I was in the kitchen with Juliette, Maribels mother and we were making dinner, my way of helping the family get ready for the holidays. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Camilo trying to taste one of the dishes “AY CHICO” I yell spooking him causing him to jump and turn into people. I take the towel that was on the counter and smack him with it.
 
              “Hey chica” he laughs trying to not get hit.“I just wanted to try your fabulous cooking” he pleaded.
 
“Mhm” I say putting my hands on my hip. “Your saying that like I don’t bake you cookies”
 
              “And I love your cookies” he walks over about to kiss me when I hear my sister Hermosa call from above.
 
“Yo get a room you to love birds”Hermosa says walking down the stairs.
 
“You and Isabella kiss all the time, why isn’t it any different” I roll my eyes.
 
“Well Isabella and I are adults while you to are kids so leave room for Jesus” just then Isabella showed up beside Hermosa I just rolled my eyes.
 
The towel I was holding disappeared out of my hand and I saw sawmill run off so I followed him slightly running. “Camilo” I catch my breath “can I have my towel back”  I said and I see him leaning against the door I walk over and wrap my arms around his waist “please”.
 
Camilo thinks for a moment and I look up at him catching a glimpse of something above my head. Looking at it more clearly by moving my head to see a Mistletoe. “Can I get a kiss first” I wrap my arms around him.
 
“Sure” and as he leans in I hear.
 
“MARIA” and Mirabel running around the corner exhausted. “Maria I-“ she stops “Sorry was I ruining a moment?” She asks.
 
I pull away from Camilo “No Mirabel its fine what do you need.”
 
“Well” she starts “My mom needs you in the kitchen and she won’t let anyone else come in to help.” I was holding on to Camilo’s hand and he just gave me a look like go so I did.
 
The rest of the day happened like that Camilo would try to get my attention but I would either be busy or people would interrupt us.
 
The village all came to the celebration and we all had a good time but I had a hard time trying to find Camilo. Soon the celebration came to a end and all the villagers started heading back home. Mirabel offered to let me stay there and sleep in the extra bed in her room which I appreciated and I took the offer. I immediately went to sleep after I laid down. I awoke awhile later groggy I got up and walked to the kitchen for some water when I heard footsteps. I took of my sandal and got ready to hit someone when I heard him.
 
“Mi amor, its just me” that’s when Camilo came around the corner is hands up.
 
I let out a breath and put my sandal back on “Thank god” I went over and gave home a hug which he was kinda surprised but thankful, he hugged me back. “Camilo where were you I didn’t see you all evening.”
 
“Sorry” he left out a small laugh “I was setting something up and lost track of time”.
 
“Have you slept yet?” I ask concerned.
 
“Heh no” he said “Just come with me, scold me later” I always got after him when he would stay up late at night.
 
“Fine but promises me you’ll go to sleep right after” he gave me a nod and led me around to the back of the house where a blanket was stretched on the floor a couple other blankets spread about, a lantern was hanging off the nearby tree and a couple firefly were flying about. “Camilo what is this?” I was honestly awe struck and could help but walking over.
 
“We didn’t get time to hang out today so I set this up.” He said leading me closer to the area where we sat in the light of the lantern. I rested my head on his shoulder.
 
“I think I should give you my gift now” I say he looks towards me. His face was shining in the moon light and my face turned bright red as I gave him a kiss on the lips. I pulled away and looked down at the ground. He took his hand and put it on my face, so I leaned into it. He tilted my head up so I was looking at him. He was smiling his cheeky grin, so I buried my face into his chest “omg you're so annoying.”
 
He laughed aloud “you know I love making you laugh, but really thank you for the gift mi amor.” I just furrowed my brows and punched him in the stomach “Oh come on.”
 
I yawned “Can we stay out here a little longer its very peaceful” I say leaning more against him.
 
He kisses my forehead “Sure, anything for you”
 
We ended up falling asleep there under the moonlight and stars with only the sounds of critters peacefully sleeping.
