"Bianca, you shouldn't be doing this." The woman in question turns her head around. Her light strawberry blonde hair cascading down her back as she propped her round belly up, leaning on her hip. She stares at the man she called brother annoyingly.
"Aurelio De Ophelia, golden child. Papa won't even notice I'm gone, don't worry I'll come back, I just need to live a little first, with my child and my love." She said as she turned back over to the door, twisting the knob open.
"Bianca you don't have to run away, once I'm the Don, you can live here safely with your child and that foreigner." Aurelio steps forwards determined. Bianca's eye twitches, her love for the most part was a foreigner, Japanese to be exact. The number one rule when you come to Italy as a tourist was to steer clear of the mafias and organisations, and yet this man that has caught the heart of one of the most powerful Don's in Italy's daughter, even impregnating her with his child.
There wasn't much to say other than his life was over, but yet the daughter was a rebellious child who believed in true love and for it— she would run away from the comfort of the protection of Don De Ophelia, her father.
But every father has their flaws and her father in particular was that he believed that his daughter needed no other man whilst he was alive. He had enough power across Italy to protect his daughter for life. His mindset certainly disapproved of such a man who came to Italy for a tour much less a foreigner. It was kill on sight for that man that got his daughter pregnant.
"That is— when you're the Don, Papa is still going to be around for a while, and if I want to live happily with my family, I want the her father to be in it too." Bianca rubs her belly gently, feeling a little kick from inside her. She smiles warmly, her golden orbs glistening as she pictured her perfect baby's smiling face.
Aurelio looks at her. How could one person be so in love with someone else? They had barely known each other for a year and now she's pregnant with a child on the way. Aurelio sighs heavily, throwing his head back. His sister was always stubborn and once she had her heart set on it, she always came through, especially when it came to love.
Letting out a dry chuckle he glances back at her, accepting the fact that she was indeed leaving the family and starting her own without their father's blessing.
"It's a girl..?"He asks as he watched Bianca tenderly stroke her belly. She nods with a small smile as a gust of wind flew in from outside the door.
"Yes...I found out not too long ago."She replies as she looked up at her brother who looked back at the small lump that was poking up from the skin. The baby sure was energetic, perhaps she felt her mother was going away from all the crime to a more thrilling and legitimate life.
"Have you decided on a name?"Aurelio asks as he approached her. She nodded, content with it.
"(Y/n)...(Y/n) Konoe." Aurelio eyes widen at the name, looking back at his sister with a slight annoyance.
"Her father's name?"He mutters as his arms dropped to his sides. If anything else, he planned to kill the father himself and take his sister and his niece back as De Ophelia's. Attaching such a commonplace name like 'Konoe' to a daughter of the De Ophelia bloodline, unheard of. Surely the De Ophelia prestige overid any other name across Italy and any other family that entered their family branches.
Biana, however thought broadly. Her family of honor and respect that ran Italy's exports and imports; included the darker side: smuggling. Women, children, immigrants and the core of the their trading partners like Passione; drugs.
She had experienced first hand the injustice that had been done to others as a result of her family. To have her child grow up in such a family, it's clenched her heart.
Konoe..if she were born a Konoe..her name at least wouldn't be tied to such a family. Such a dark but loving family who were cruel to everyone else that wasn't their own blood.
"She'll grow up to be kind, righteous, selfless. She'll be away from the De Ophelia's. I won't let her live like that. Worshipped upon a high pedestal for her De Ophelia blood."Bianca arms rest on her stomach, trying to bring herself closer to her own child.
"De Ophelia's have many enemies, out there you're a walking target and so is that child. You'll struggle. Trying to get by everyday, to put food on the table, to give her a life that she could've had if she were raised by the famiglia." Aurelio tightens his teeth as Bianca turns away from him, taking small steps out the door as the cold night wind blew into the hideaway house.
"The Don will give her protection, she's De Ophelia's blood! Is it so bad to be on the pedestal when you can avoid all the bad things that happen in the world?"
Bianca stops, turning around; silent. She knew. She knew from the bottom of her heart that she would struggle to raise a child with the man who had no identity whatsoever within Italy. With her father's enemies looking for a weakness to dethrone him, she was the biggest one. Without the Don's protection, the De Ophelia empire would surely crumble.
"That pedestal. Is built on blood and the lives of all the people that died for the famiglia. Can I still tell my daughter that her family are good knowing that her family has killed to be put on the throne?"

"You shouldn't have left, Bianca..why..? Why did you leave..?" Aurelio's mind hazes as he bends down. His sister's lifeless body drenched in red and burns, and yet; her face was still beautiful. Bianca, so pure and white, coloured in such a deep red. It let scars tear into Aurelio's chest.
She was like a saint, dressed in the most beautiful wedding gown. Yet the church was blown away to ashes. Bodies upon bodies stacked around the ruins.
Her father, the Don eyed his sobbing son and his deceased daughter, who in the end, never let go of the one she loved. A Japanese man, dressed in matching white tux. Their hands interlocked tightly as their bodies laid together side by side.
They were to wed, in a church, ten years after their escapade, living from a day to day life. With their children.
Don De Ophelia glanced over at the sobbing children in the corner of his eyes. The little girl who resembled her mother in everyway. And the little boy beside her, her younger brother. They were both covered in blood, silently sobbing under the blankets near the ambulance.
The Don approached them, bending down to their level. They were cautious— of course their parents had just been shot to death and they watched as they were told to hide.
The Don opened his arms to his grandchildren, with foreign blood or not, they were still De Ophelia's and he was determined to make it that way.
