"Things rarely go to plan."

Nearly two hours had passed by, but Roshan and Clark had stayed just where they were, naked, under the sheets of Roshan's double bed, with the chef resting his head on Clark's chest and Clark's arms wrapped around him. The sound of easy listening music could still be heard from down the stairs in the lounge, but it wasn't a nuisance enough for either one to get up and turn it off. The total state of completion they found themselves in was too great to disturb.

"How did we end up here?" Roshan mumbles as he runs his fingertips over Clark's chest, enjoying the feel of the few hairs which resided there.

"Well..." Clark begins. "You took me by the hand and lead me up the stairs..."

"I don't mean literally." Roshan chuckles, lightly hitting Clark's chest. "I mean spiritually. We were not even meant to meet if things went as they should have."

"Things rarely go to plan." Clark sighs with content. "We just go along with the ride half the time."

"Is that how you role?" Roshan adjusts his head to catch Clark's gaze. "You just let things happen to you?"

"I guess I'm just a believer in fate, that's all." Clark says, leaning forward a little to place a kiss on Roshan's forehead.

"Mmm, well. I don't believe in fate. I like to think I have control over my life." Roshan breathes out.

"So you think us meeting was part of your plan?" Clark says a little amused by Roshan's rationale.

"There are exceptions to the rule, of course. I guess that's why I felt conflicted at first. I didn't see this coming." He nestles once again into Clark's chest.

"Like I said, we never truly know what's around the corner. But I wouldn't change here and now."  Clark says as he runs his hand up and down Roshan's back.

"Well...that's why I need to do something." Roshan replies, his tone a little less contented than before.

"What do you mean?" Clark wonders, lifting his head from the pillow a fraction.

"I'm going to tell the principal about us. What we did in the classroom, well my part at least. You technically did nothing wrong."

Clark now sits up a bit more, making Roshan lift up his head. He looks at the chef with a mixture of surprise and confusion. "Why Roshan? Why do that? You will lose your position. You said so yourself how much you love that job!"

"It's going to come out sooner or later Clark. There's going to be so many variations of the truth out there, that when I am pulled up about it, no one will believe what actually happened."

"But it's all rumour. No one can pin this on us." Clark says before adding. "Don't risk losing your job over a fling."

Roshan now sits up in the bed. He turns to face Clark. Taking his hand. "Is that what you think this is? A fling?"

Clark looks at the hand holding his. He couldn't deny that their relationship so far had been somewhat unconventional and fleeting, at least for him, but he couldn't hide from the fact that now Roshan was in his life, he couldn't imagine his life without him.  "I feel something for you. I really do, but outing yourself? Don't do it. We can wait until I've at least finished the course."

"This isn't just about us Clark. I have a sense of duty. A sense of pride that I must do the right thing. By my standards if not by anyone else's. Besides, maybe I could try something new, I don't know, maybe open up a little tent like Jojo's. I mean you have your bookstore. How hard can it be?"

"My bookstore doesn't make any profit. It's just something I cling onto. My passion I guess, like food is for you." Clark gives a weak smile. "I'm not a business man, I'm just an idiot clinging onto a dream that maybe someone one day will share my passion and maybe buy more than one book every few months."

"Well..." Roshan lets go of Clark's hand and reaches across to his nightstand. "I have been reading this and it is good. You have good taste in books." Roshan shows Clark the half leafed through book.

"Well we have a book in common. I guess that's a start." Clark laughs.

Roshan joins in with the laughter as he puts the book back on his bedside table.  He watches as Clark seems to finally move to get out of bed. "Where are you going?" He says in wonder, watching as Clark located his underwear from the bedroom floor.

"Morton will be done with whatever he needed my shop for now. I should get back."

Roshan glances at the time on the bedside clock. Are you sure? It's only been three hours or so. Maybe he needs more time."

"He said he only needed a couple of hours. He's probably wondering where I am." Clark replies, pulling his underpants up his legs.

"He hasn't called. Maybe he just needs a bit longer." Roshan suggests.

"No, I'd better go, I've intruded too much as it is... "

"Jesus Clark, just get back into bed!" Roshan suddenly blurts out.

"What?" Clark stops with his underwear mid way up his thighs.

"Stay Clark. I want you to stay with me tonight. Don't go." Roshan now speaks softer in tone.

"But...Morton..."

"I don't care! All I know is I don't want you to go. I want you to stay."

"Are you sure? Is this fate or did you plan this?" Clark looks at Roshan with a cheeky grin.

"This is all me. Totally my decision. I can cook you breakfast. I owe you a meal since my steak never made it to you."

Lowering his underpants once again, letting them fall to his feet before kicking them off, Clark again crawls onto the bed, right up to Roshan, catching his lips and they fall into an embrace. "Well...with an offer like that, how can I refuse?"
