I was thinking ,about my dad, my freinds...my mom.

My dad was always the type to adventure out with me and my brother we would go looking for stuff on the beach and would take drives around town and go on secret paths. The one thing our dad didnt do was get lost .

My thoughts flooded my head on what could have happened as I tried to organize my thoughts and worrys a clap of thunder pierced the my ears seeing lightning after

" holy shit " I jumped out of my skin,standing up and going over to the window to see the damage done already

I lifted the curtain to see out the window seeing the trees blowing in the wind and the rain covering every inch of the island .

" hey " john b said as the door creaked open

" hey" I said getting out of the window

" I just wanted to tell you that I'm gonna go surf the surge with pope if you wanna join " john b said still in the doorway

" no im g- wait the surge? No way you two are gonna get hurt " I said just now processing what my brother said

" I'll be fine . And so will you ,jjs in the living room if you need anything " john b said slowly walking backwards into the hall

"I- just be careful .don't die" i said turning
Back to the window

It had been a few minutes since my brother left to go do something stupid ...as always . I was scared but would never admit it . It was dark , windy and i was alone in my room .

Lights out

The room . Pitch black i grabbed my blanket I was under tight holding my phone and turning on the flash . Stepping out onto the floor it made a creaking noise , i walked out into the living room to see jj with his flash on flicking the kitchen light on and off

" hey, I was just about to check on you. Are you good ?" jj said turning once he saw a silluete on the wall of me

" I'm fine . You?" I asked

" yeah just about to go and try to flip the breaker .... are you sure you're ok? You're uh shaking a little " jj asked concerd

I nodded

We sat in the silence for a second before jj broke it again

" ya know what ? fuck it , it looks like the lights are out all around town , And it's not like we've got anything else to do , cmon I wanna hear whats been going on since ive last seen you." Jj said as we progressively made it closer to the open futon and sat down

" ok , well where should I start ?" I asked

" anywhere " he looked at me

" yeah and then she spilled the mash potatoes all over herself " i said laughing and smiling
