Taylor is stressed. She has constantly been working on promos and doing interviews as it's the holiday season. She has been preparing to release a Christmas single, so a lot of her time has been spent with the press. Along with this, she also has been trying to pack up to go back home, as she spent some time in Nashville with her parents after thanksgiving Unfortunately she can't be there for Christmas because of work, so she has to go back to New York.
Taylor sits in her childhood bedroom as she packs up her suitcase. The house is glowing with Christmas lights and the feeling of nostalgia. She usually gets to spend Christmas at home, and it upsets her that she can't this year. Releasing a Christmas song is something she always wanted to do, but it came with a very busy holiday season.
Just as Taylor zips up her suitcase, her foot bumps into something underneath her bed. She looks down to realize it's an old journal, from when she was in high school.
She opens it up and flips to a random page and starts reading:

November 13, 2007
Today was magical. After school, I went to hang out with all my friends, and it was so fun. Everyone is getting ready for the holidays, my favorite time of the year. I can feel the excitement and pure happiness starting to sweet through my body as we get closer to Christmas.
My friends are so awesome, but Karlie is super awesome. While we were hanging out today she always made sure to listen to me, even through the screams of the other girls talking about boys and crushes. My voice sometimes get drowned out because I'm quiet, but Karlie always listens. She's so beautiful.

Taylor closes the journal, and hides it back under her bed. Teenage her was a whole other person, and she's grown so much from then.
A tear drops from her eyes as she remembers what happened around that same time. Karlie secretly was kinda into her, but Taylor wasn't into Karlie. She just thought she was beautiful, but she wasn't gay. Taylor always sees the beauty in everyone.
Another tear rolls down and Taylor can't even explain why. This was so long ago, and she hasn't thought about it in forever. She's been dating a couple boys throughout her adult life so far, but she misses the simplicity that was high school. Just a bunch of teenage girls happily talking about their crushes. But then there was Karlie....
Taylor stops her thoughts to the sound of her mom yelling her name.

"Taylor?," Andrea yells. "Are you packed and ready to go? Your flight is leaving soon honey!"

"Yeah mom, I'm on my way down."

Taylor wipes the tears from her face and pulls her suitcase off the bed. She rolls it over to the door and steps out. With one look back at her childhood bed, she closes the door and doesn't look back.

Upon arriving in New York, Taylor grabs a taxi from the airport to her apartment. Soon enough, she's back home and greeted by an excited meow from Olivia.
"I missed you too liv," Taylor says softly while Olivia rubs against her legs.
Taylor brings her bags to her room and starts to unpack, then checks the time. It's 12:30 am, and she's exhausted. It all hit her at once, and she decides it's time to go to bed.
She washes her face and brushes her teeth, then climbs into her bed just as Olivia jumps up. Taylor rolls over to look at the city lights out her large ceiling to floor window next to her bed. Next thing she knows, she's drifting off with the weight of Olivia on her feet.

          —————————————————————
Taylor wakes up to light shining through her window, and rolls over to check the time. It's 8:30 am and she decides it's about time to get up.
After going through her morning routine, she decides to go get coffee from her favorite coffee shop just a couple blocks away. She has a long day today, including a meeting with Tree about the new song coming out.
Taylor gets dressed in a simple blue long sleeve shirt and a pair of black overalls. She walks out the door after saying bye to Olivia, and heads down the street toward her favorite coffee shop.
Once there, Taylor orders a maple latte, her favorite, and stands by the counter waiting for the barista to finish her drink. She scrolls through her phone aimlessly until her name is called and she grabs her drink.
On her way out, she suddenly bumps into someone an immediately goes to apologize before looking up. The girl before her was taller then her, and had gorgeous shoulder length blonde hair.

"Taylor?" The girl exclaimed.

That's when Taylor recognized her, it was Karlie.
