"Y/n!"

All she could see was darkness everywhere. It's so cold too cold. She was scared and confused. All she could hear was someone's muffled voice calling her name. The scariest part was she couldn't breathe! She was drowning! She tried to make her arms and legs move to swim but she couldn't. The elf girl started to sink, and all she could do was look up toward whoever was calling her name till she slowly lost consciousness as she sank deeper and deeper into the darkness.

The beautiful red-haired (or whatever you want) elf shot out of bed screaming. Beads of sweat dripped down her forehead.

"Breath y/n, slow down, breath." She said trying to calm herself down.
Y/n took one last deep breath before looking over to the clock on her nightstand only to find that she oversleep and was about to be late for work!

"Oh no! I slept in!" She exclaimed as she jumped out of bed.

"And three days before Christmas eve no less! Snowy is going to kill me!"
(I'm spreading the movie out to at least a 3-day time frame)

She rushed to the bathroom, brushed her teeth, put her hair up, and threw on her clothes as fast as she could.

She grabbed her bag, put on her green elf hat, and ran out the door locking it behind her.

"Please don't be gone! Please don't be gone!" She chanted as she ran towards the train station only to be knocked to the ground by an elf in a red shirt and vest wearing green pants with a matching green hat.

"Sorry!" He called out not even stopping to help her up.

"Well, Merry Christmas to you too." She muttered bitterly under her breath before she stood up and continued her mission.

"Oh, I'll never get there in time now!" She yelled coming to a stop. She started to look around at her surroundings.

"Guess I'll just have to take a shortcut." She said in a determined voice.
She ran off in a different direction.

Time skip

Huffing and puffing she made it to the train station just as the train was pulling out. She took whatever remaining energy she had and ran for the train.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the same elf who had pushed her over running towards the same train only to run face-first into a sign.

"Ouch, that had to hurt." She thought as she ran.
She ran along the side of the train reaching out to grab on.

"Come on almost there" she panted as the train started slowly getting farther away from her grasp.

Before she knew it a hand grabbed her own and pulled her onto the train.

She kneeled down on the floor of the train clutching her chest, eyes sealed shut as she started gasping for air.

"Well, that was close. Are you all right?" Asked an elf with a strong Irish accent.

She didn't even have to look up to know who it was. It was shortbread. Her partner and the elf she has been in love with for the last 5 years.

"Hi *pant* shorty." She said still out of breath.

"Hehe," he chuckles. "Good morning to you too y/n! " he said extending a hand to help her up.

"Morning!" She said as she grabbed his gloved hand. He pulled her up off the ground with ease.

"Cutting a bit close to today. Sleep in did we?" He asks cocking an eyebrow while crossing his arms.

"You could say that," she said quietly. She shivered as she thought back on the nightmare that had woken her from her slumber.

Shortbread frowned when she shivered. He did mean to make her upset.

"Did something happen?" He asked placing his gloved hand on her shoulders. Pulling away a bit when she flinched out of surprise when his hand made contact with her shoulder.

She looked up at her friend's concerned face giving him a weak smile. She placed her hand over his.

"I'm ok just a bad dream that's all," she said replacing her weak smile with a bright wide one to reassure him that she was indeed "fine".

"If you say so," he said in an unsure voice still not entirely convinced.

Y/n turned away from him to sit down since they at least had one or two more stops till their own. Shortbread followed and sat down next to her.
She opened her bag and pulled out her small vanity mirror and some makeup. She then started to apply some to her face since she didn't get to do it this morning.
Well, she was going to till she was interrupted by a scoffing shortbread.

"What?" She asked confused looking up at him.

"Now what are you putting that on for?" Shortbread questioned as he sat down next to her.
"Aren't you pretty enough?"

"Ha!" She exclaimed turning bright red not expecting him to say that.

"Your crazy!" She replied trying to hide her face from his gaze.

"Am not!" He said defending himself.
"If anything you're the crazy one if you think you need that! Your one of the prettiest girls in the north pole don't you know?" He said while reaching over to grab her mirror shutting it when he grabbed it.
Smirking when he noticed the red blush on her face.

"Hey give that back," she said trying to grab it back from him,
But he was too quick. He stood up and held the small hand mirror over his head using his height to his advantage.

"Oh real mature. Give it back shorty!" She said jumping up and trying to grab the mirror without stepping on his toes.

"Haha not till you admit that you don't need the makeup." He said while dodging her attacks.

She sighs in defeat as she rested her head on his chest.

"Ok you win Idon'tneedmakeup" she mumbled turning away from him and pouting.

"Hmm? What was that? I didn't quite catch it?" He said leaning over her shoulder with a smug look on his face to 'hear her better'.

She tried to hide the blush on her face as she felt his hot breath on the back of her neck. Knowing he wasn't going to give up till he got what he wanted.

Sighing again she turned to the elf hovering over her shoulder.

"I said I DON'T NEED THE MAKEUP!" She yelled in his face, He didn't even flinch.

"Happy?" She questioned with an irritated voice.

"Very." He said handing the mirror back to the blushing girl in front of him. His smirk never faltered.

He sat down and patted the seat next to him inviting her to sit.
She complied and sat down next to him placing the mirror back in her bag.

He watched her with a warm smile on his face. Proud that he convinced y/n that she didn't need makeup.

Y/n turned to him blushing under his gaze once she realized he was staring.

"What?" She asked moving a piece of hair behind her ear.

"Nothing." He said blushing. He turned his head away embarrassed that she had caught him staring.

"If you say so," she said.
They continued their commute in silence only talking occasionally when someone would start small talk.

Wow, 1340 words!
