Dedicated to my girl Lexie. Thank you for everything!!!

Jackson stood in the cafeteria line with Dean and Janice. Lunch started ten minutes ago and the line wouldn't budge. As he waited to get his food, Dean and Janice were constantly complaining behind him.

"Oh god I'm starving!" Janice exclaimed, throwing her arms up. "How much longer?"

Dean scowled beside her. "Would you shut up? You're not the only one who's hungry."

Janice glared at him and was about reply back but was cut short by hearing Jackson's stomach grumble.

Dean nodded his head towards Jackson. You don't see him complaining." Janice crossed her arms across her chest and mumbled something incoherent.

Jackson sighed in relief when they finally reached the front of the line. Paying, they grabbed their lunches and sat down at one of the tables in the cafeteria. He honestly hated Mondays. It's when Myra had to stay in during lunch for music lessons and help the teacher out. Any other day the two of them would be together and hanging out with their friends.

Jackson suddenly wished he had music this semester. That way he and Myra can stay in during lunch on Mondays rather than Chloe.

Jackson was suddenly pulled out of his thoughts when he heard the two idiots bickering again. He honestly can't put up with these two. When he looked up from his plate of food he saw Dean and Janice on the verge of pulling each others hairs out.

"You're so frustrating!" Janice exclaimed. That caused Dean to only smirk in reply. "Don't you have anything better to do than annoy me?"

"Nope." Replied Dean, popping the 'p'. "Infact, I find your reactions quite amusing."

Janice turned to look at her brother for help but Jackson just gave her a blank stare in return. They were twins and the relationship the two had would make any person envy. Jackson would always support his sister's decisions and was there by her defence when she needed it.

Except when it came to Dean.

At first Jackson would always tell Dean to back off and take his sister's side but as the years went on he realised there was nothing he can do that will prevent the two from grabbing each others' necks.

Janice gritted her teeth and faced Dean with a tight smile. "Really? And what is it about my reactions that you find about me so amusing?"

Dean let out a chuckle. "Oh you know the usual. The way your eye twitches, or the way your voice rises another two octaves." Dean leaned closer to Janice to inspect her face. "Did you know that a vain practically pops out of your forehead when you get mad? And-"

"Shut up!" Janice snapped cutting his sentence short. She subconsciously lifted her hand feeling for a bump on her forehead to see if her vain was actually popping out.

"Will you two cut it out." Jackson sighed. He pinched the bridge of his nose with his thumb and index finger. "You're acting like little kids fighting over the last piece of candy.

"Hey she started it." Dean said pointing his finger towards Janice.

Jackson raised one of his eyebrows.

"I did not." Said Janice defensively crossing her arms across her chest.

Before the two could start another heated argument, the bell rang signalling that lunch was over.

Quickly standing up and putting his tray away, Jackson walked towards his locker gathering his books for next period. He went to the end of the hall where he usually meets Myra so they can walk to class together as his was besides hers.

His eyes roamed the crowded halls to spot the little brunette.

There she was walking down the hall with her bag lazily slung over her shoulder. Her brown hair flowed down her back in natural waves going great against her pale skin. Her brown eyes sparkled when she spotted him. Putting on a warm smile she walked up to him. "Hey."

Grinning he said, "Hey." Jackson started walking with Myra to her next class. "How was lunch?"

Myra beamed when he asked her that. "Great! Apparently Mr. Brown said I did wonderful on the music assessment." She was practically bouncing with excitement.

Jackson felt happy for her. She worked really hard on that assessment. "I told you you'll do great."

"Yeah, I guess you did." Replied Myra as they walked up the flight of stairs to the third floor. It was pretty obvious that Myra loved music. Something she's very passionate about since she was practically an infant.

Jackson felt a smile crept on his face when he first heard the girl play piano. Myra's eight-year-old self was there in the living with her eyes closed as she let her fingers grace over the keys as if they had a mind of their own. She was playing a melody that he wasn't familiar with; sitting on her father's lap as he taught her different notes.

Jackson remembered the content look on her face showing that she was in peace. He couldn't forget the way her face glowed when she played and the way her eyes sparkled when she opened them to look up at the boy who was staring at her.

Her brown wavy hair up in a high ponytail wearing a bright pink sweater and dark jeans. A heart shaped locked placed around her neck.

That was years ago when it happened.

Jackson looked at Myra noticing that same heart shaped locket around her neck she has kept for years. He let his eyes trail up to her face landing on her brown eyes noticing that they were staring at something behind him.

Jackson turned his head to see what it was his, or more importantly who it was. His eyebrows shot upwards as he saw Myra's cousin walking towards them with a huge grin on her face.

Myra let her own grin appear on her face as she practically ran towards Jennifer caging her in a huge hug most likely knocking the air out of the little girl.

The two girls started chatting animately not caring that class was soon about to start.

Jackson walked up to the girls with his hands in his pockets interrupting their conversation. "Sorry to bother you two but I'm afraid we're going to be late." Just then on cue, the warning bell rang causing all the students in the hallway scrambling to get to class.

Sighing, Myra bid her goodbyes to Jennifer and Jackson as she walked into math class. She sat at her assigned seats and took out her homework and waited for the teacher to enter the classroom.

------

Jackson walked to the parking lot with his friends trailing behind him. Janice and Dean were bickering again while Chloe, Jennifer, and Myra were chatting animatedly to one another catching up to what happened in the course of the three weeks Jennifer was absent.

"Are you serious!" Jennifer gasped, putting her hand over her mouth. Chloe and Myra only nodded at her confirming what they said was true.

Jackson rolled his eyes at his friends. They were an interesting bunch but he loved them anyways.

Reaching the parking lot, everyone parted their ways while bidding their goodbyes to one another. Myra followed Chloe to her car, Dean went to his with Jennifer behind him as he offered her a ride, and Janice followed her brother.

Jackson got behind the wheel and Janice sat in the passenger seat.

Both of them put on their seatbelt, as Jackson drove towards their home.

Janice look at her brother from the corner of her eye and opened her mouth to say something Jackson was trying so hard to avoid.
