You open the door with your back carrying an abundance of food. You and your Abuela made a batch of empanadas, all in different varieties. It took all you had not to eat all of them up before the Madrigal party. The whole town was invited to it, there would be food, music, flowers, and dancing. There was nothing more you wanted to do than dance. It made you jittery thinking about it. You followed your Abuela to the casita, brushing the soft colorful wood as a greeting before entering. The window doors flapped in and out, like it was waving to you, it made you smile fondly.

Spinning around on your feet, you took in the beauty of the home, you heard it was big, but didn't expect much.

"This place really is magnificent..." you muttered, walking to the stretched out table.

"Isn't?" Abuela asked "I'm so grateful that we get to be here, it's been awhile since I've seen Alma."

"Has it? Well, you should go and find her, I bet she'd love to see you." You suggested, shooing her away from the table of treats.

She was about to speak when your hand raised up. Shaking your head, you gave her a thumbs up.

"Don't worry about the food, I've got it covered!"

Her smile came up, slowly walking up to you, she patted your cheek. "Thank you, Y/N, always such a good child...just don't eat all of the food while I'm gone." She proceeded to walk away.

Giggling you get to work on setting everything up. You made sure everything was in its place, the rice, the tamales, the buñuelos, and you especially kept the empanadas at a safe distance. Looking at all the food you were afraid you couldn't keep your promise, to abuela or yourself. Now that the bar was perfect, you had nothing to do, now you 're thinking you shouldn't have told Abuela to leave. The smell of fragrant roses and honey had blossomed in the air, announcing that Isabela was now in the room. Your sweat dropped seeing her run up to you, preparing for impact as her body crashed into yours.

"Y/N!" She spins around in your arms, as a flower crown bloomed on her head. "Oh! It's been so long!"

You laughed, hugging her back. "It has, you still smell so good..." her scent hadn't changed since you two were younger.

"Thanks! You look so pretty! Like a real flower." She brushed her hand against your hair, leaving orchids and roses on your head.

The pollen dropped onto your nose, making you sneeze uncontrollably.

"Ahhhhhhh-" Isabela covered the bottom of her nose with her finger to stop the sneeze.

"Thank you." You rubbed your nose, feeling a bit itchy.

"No problem. Soooo, how have you been?" She looked down at the floor. "How's your mother?" She looked at you to make sure there wasn't any sign of discomfort.

You gave out a heavy sigh, you took one of the buñuelos, breaking it in halves. Isabela to it gratefully, taking a piece off.

"Mamí's the same as she's always been...strong. On the other hand, I'm okay, you know? I'm helping Abuela out with the market, I'm still in with my studies, and I've been busy. What about you?" You saw her face and laughed.

"Too much...way too much." You didn't know what that meant, but you didn't think you wanted to know.

Though the significant age differences between you and Isabela, you two really loved each other, like sisters. Same went with Mirabel and Luisa, you had history with all of them and truly loved all of them.

"How's big guns?" You asked, crunching on the fried dough.

"Luisa? She's good- oh, there she is" She pointed at her.
