„Pay attention, you worthless anomaly!" Y/N's mother shouted at her daughter, who was trying her best to zone out and ignore her taunts.

Escapism was one of the coping mechanisms Y/N used when she was running out of efficient options. Another way to cope with hardships was oversleeping, hoping to wake up and find out that unpleasant occurrences were nothing but a nightmare, or at least let dreadful times pass faster, well, that is not how it worked, but it was more bearable way of going through things. She even tried taking control of her dreams, so she could at least feel powerful during sleep, since people spend a big part of their fleeting lives asleep, it would be pretty handy to master lucid dreaming.

„What do you want from me?" Y/N groaned.

„If you want to continue living here, you better start paying me for giving you a shelter. I have no intention of being stuck with you until one of us dies. At least, not for free."

„Are you serious?! I am supposed to pay to stay at my family's house?! If I could earn that much, I would stay anywhere but here. I hate being stuck with you even more!"

„Is that so? Then why do you keep scaring away your suitors? Do not act like you have countless options to choose from! You do not stand out in any good way; You are useless, foul–mouthed and poor, it is hard to say which is worse — your manners or your personality. Sure, you are not ugly, but you have more flaws than I can count. Scare away another man who will be desperate enough to propose to you and you will end up sleeping on the streets, without a doubt."

„No matter how much mental abuse do I have to go through from you, daily, nothing can force me to be stuck with random, disgusting man till I die, I shall not be touched by someone I dislike and I have no intention of serving anybody. I can work harder and eventually leave home..."

„So far you have been exceptionally bad at earning money."

„Whatever. What exactly makes you think that I will have another suitor, anyway? I am too weird for them basic bitches." Y/N shrugged, rolling her eyes.

„Do not give me that attitude, you ungrateful abnormality! You must do what I say! Women your age already have a child or two!"

„I really do not want somebody like you, lecturing me about marriage! What did you get out of it? Married a traveling merchant and moved to Tokyo with your infant and husband, because that is where our family made most profits, just to be dumped for the local woman in a few years and get a large list of addictions, let alone turning your daughter's life into hell, just because she reminds you of..."

„How dare you talking back to me?!" Y/N's mother yelled, slapping her daughter.

„You are allergic to truth, as always. Yes, you were too narcissistic to love my father — not that he deserved it anyway; However, your pride was strongly affected by the thought of being dumped for another woman, after all, you believed to be superior to everyone and your frail ego could not stand when your delusions were shattered. I am nothing but a reminder that you are no longer popular and confident. Yes, keep doing that! Punch me again! Uglier I shall be, less suitors I will have, so, that is fine. Go ahead! Show me how brutal you are!"

„Perhaps you want me to lock you in a psychiatric hospital once more."

„You are the one who should have been locked there. You tormented me, accused me of doing things I have never done, merely because you wanted me out of your sight, but people blindly supported your wicked schemes, no one gave a damn about the truth. I hate you all! I hate how powerless you make me feel! Humankind is nothing but a shit stain that needs to be erased. Creatures that do not even care about their offspring, disgust me beyond limits. There is also my disgrace of a father, who carelessly left me with a psychotic bitch and never even bothered to send me a letter and ask how I feel. That might be better, actually, being stuck with one monster is more than enough. Two of you together would be too much to handle."
