Namjoon's POV.

They had been following the news closely ever since the situation looked the tiniest bit out of control in China. But, like everyone, they didn't expect it to actually have an impact on their daily life. Still, one night Namjoon received a call from their manager, saying that they'd have a meeting the next morning at 8am recording new Covid-19 measures. It was late and they had just come back from their last practice. The dorm was buzzing with leftover energy from hours and hours of dancing, and he could hear jazz playing from Taehyung's speaker back there. He stood in front of the window in his room, frozen at the spot. The tour for MOTS 7 was just around the corner and he knew the members were as exhausted as he was tonight. They deserved to rest and more than anything they deserved to be able to perform, so that all their precious efforts wouldn't be wasted. It was on days like today that he wished he didn't have to be their leader. Reluctantly, he dragged his feet to the living room, following the sound of Jimin's quiet giggles and Jungkook's hushed voice, until he stopped and took in the sight before him.

Yoongi was warming up something in the microwave not too far away and Hobi was debating about airport fashion with Jin, smiling and laughing next to Taehyung. Namjoon sighed, he still needed to tell them to set an alarm early on what they thought would be their day off. He couldn't help but think that something bad was bound to happen sooner or later and he hadn't voiced his worries to the members yet, but the simple thought of saying "covid meeting" out loud made him feel uneasy. He cleared his throat, not knowing if he could find it in him to interrupt such a peaceful, domestic moment. His eyes met Jimin's, who pushed himself up from the maknae's lap the second he caught the elder's expression. "What's wrong, hyung?", he asked. The others seemed to hear the concerned tone in his voice and turned to join the conversation before Namjoon got the chance to answer him. Here goes nothing.

"Well, everyone's here? Right. Ok. Sejin-hyung just called, and uh... well I'm sorry, I know everyone was looking forward to sleeping tomorrow morning but, you see, I'm sorry... he-"

"Namjoonie, what are you apologising for? What's up?" Hobi was the one to cut him when words seemed to escape him. He let out a shaky breath before answering.

"There's a meeting tomorrow morning at the company, at 8am. It's... regarding new Covid measures, that's all he said."

Jin's POV.

Silence filled the room. His thoughts, on the contrary, were so,so loud. Jin didn't know what to think or how to react. Judging by the faces that the others made just now around him, he now knew he wasn't the only one. Covid was something they didn't dare to speak about. Their latest taboo. He cringed at the thought, secrets were not something that Bangtan did. The previous years had taught them that much, and yet the epidemic was treated like an open secret. Taehyung had tried once to talk about the rise in cases up North, calling it "the one who shall not be named", and the glare he got from Namjoon that day was enough to make him stop. Had he been unaware of everybody's fears or just insensitive to the whole situation, that much wasn't clear, but Seokjin didn't completely disagree with the boy. He had heard Hobi and Yoongi talking late at night, expressing how afraid of Covid's impacts they were and he wished that everyone could support each other openly rather than sticking to whispers in the nights and death stares. So, when Namjoon announced the meeting he couldn't say that he didn't see it coming. And yet it still hit him. He tried so hard to refrain from letting his thoughts wonder. He could tell Jungkook was going through the same struggle as his doe eyes seemed to burn a hole into the living room carpet. On the opposite side of the room, Namjoon transferred his weight from one leg to the other, waiting for an answer that didn't seem to come. The second oldest, however, finally replied.

"Ok. We'll set our alarms, don't worry about it Joon. Thank you for telling us." he said before grabbing his popcorn bag and heading to bed. Taehyung scoffed and just gave a dry smile before following. When had he turned off his music? Not that it mattered, the mood was ruined. Seokjin knew that much and watched Namjoon who looked like he blamed himself for the whole thing. Hoseok offered him a knowing smile before saying goodnight and leaving the room as well.
