CHAPTER I
Once, there was a little girl.
Her name was Arlene.
Arlene didn't have any friends.
Because, well, not many people liked her.It was for one reason..
Arlene..Had a mark on her hand.
Sounds crazy, right?
Well, this mark wasn't a normal mark.
It was shaped like a heart. No one knew why it was there.
Until Arlene met someone..
Someone new.
Someone who knew."I guess it's time to rest,"
Arlene whispered to herself. She got comfortable, and slowly dozed off, without a single thought...
As she was in her dream, it felt quite.. unusual.
She was at a forest of the greenest grass, tallest trees, most elegant and exquisite flowers, the sounds of nature's birds chirping, a beautiful sight.
She sat down, and gazed at the sky.
"Such beautiful scenery," She said, in a relieved voice."I've never seen somewhere.. so incredible!"
She grew more and more thrilled by the minute. Such a fascinating place!
She was lost in her thoughts, when she heard footsteps.. Though, they were quiet, and soft footsteps.
She got up, and looked around, and there she saw; a tall, purple haired woman.
She had a golden-white dress, and galactic hair that covered her face.
And lastly, purple skinned, along having a heart locket with a sign of infinity.
Who was she? And where did she come from? Well, right after she walked up to Arlene, she jumped up elegantly, and landed In a sitting.
Arlene quietly observed the woman before she spoke, "Um.. hi?"
"Hello, Arlene! Welcome to the forest of Eternal life."
"WH.. How do you know my name?! Who are you?!"
"Oh — Sorry! I did not mean to frighten you,"
"I am a god of eternal life,"
"And, well, I do not have a name.. could you give me one?"
Arlene thought about this for a moment.
"Err.. how about.. Lilac! Yeah, Lilac!"
"But anyways, why are you here? And why am I here?"
Lilac was quiet for a moment.
"..Well,"
She sighed and answered her question.
"I- I.. Well... You're here because.."
"Please go on,"
"Well, you know... that mark on your hand?"
Arlene thought for a moment.
Did this woman actually know something about her mark?
"Uhm.. Yes? What about it?"
"Well, let me tell you, If I may."
"Go on."
"Alright."
"Long ago, there was a great legend. It was about the three gods of the universe."
"The three gods represented a power each, one being Eternal life, me. Who is the one destined to bring eternal life and peace to all of the galaxies,"
"The second god is the one of the truth. It is destined to have a slightly unpredictable power, as it has a different affect on everyone. I don't know much about it."
"Lastly, the god of purpose."
Arlene waited for her to explain something about purpose. Yet no response.
"So,"
"Aren't you going to tell me about purpose?"
"Well,"
"I suppose I cannot hide this from you,"
"Purpose... Hasn't been awoken in eons. Nobody knows ANYTHING about purpose. The one little thing we know that's left of her is that her power can reach to no limit. If anyone had this power, it would be so dangerous, unless they knew how to control its energy of power."
"But,"
"The only reason we know that is.."
"It's because long ago, all of us existed. Even someone else — who was me."
"Well.. let me explain, will you?"
Arlene quickly decided to say yes, because she needed to know.
"Alright,"
"Long ago, maybe hundreds of eons ago, there lived the three old gods. Before earth. They protected all of the multiverse! They were infinitely the greatest. Until, one day, they stumbled upon a great enemy."
"That enemy was.."
"..."
"Misery."
"As you can tell, Misery is a word to describe..Sadness. Or just torturing sadness."
"Misery was.. a mournful and grieving god. That came from an anomaly in a faraway galaxy. In fact, one that didn't exist from their information. It was a glitch in the system. The gods didn't know they were watching AUs and not other galaxies. Which meant there is a whole different galaxy of universes out there, but to us it's a glitch in the system. And to them, WE'RE a glitch in the system! Which means.. They are trying to kill our galaxy!"
"And, since the three gods were destroyed, a single thousand years later, I had awoken as...Eternal life. I'm the one keeping the multiverse stable, at the moment, but my powers can't hold any longer.. A couple of years, and misery's attack will begin."
Now, that's quite the story, you might think.
But the gods were gone, In just a blink.
Could they meet the range of misery's power?
Or would sadness, and grieving, take control of their power?
It is up to someone, to understand how misery is seen.
But now, there is one chosen, and her name is Arlene.
