Loud infinite sounds of a busy city hit Ora like a tidal wave as she tried to make her way around for the first time.
It was her first time in New York and already having second opinions about it. It was the complete opposite of a low profile place to live in. The worst thing was, large cities like these mean only one thing: Crime. As one of the biggest cities is the U.S, New York City itself has several city sections like Chinatown or Brooklyn and Queens which are more of the downtown parts of New York City. The main part of New York is Manhattan, which has Central Park.
Ora sighed and looked up from her map to the buildings around her. 'This place is a complete maze! A few blocks straight and I'm already lost! Good thing I have an entire day for this sort of thing. Would have been smart to bring my phone even if it was on low battery. Oh well...'
Her long, dark hair swirled about around her face. She shivered. One of the worst things about being so upstate is the certain chill feeling sticking on all year round. But this season at the moment, full of falling droplets and white flakes, has to be the worst time of the year in this city to arrive at(in her opinion). 'Well, best get back to it.'
She continued on, getting even more lost once two hours of searching struck. Without realizing, she stopped in the middle of a crosswalk, staring at a certain part of town square on the map. It was marked with a strange symbol. Ora blinked. It was gone! She had to be seeing things. This whole trip had made her go crazy. But it was possible that she wasn't going mad...This map had belonged to her military brother when he visited New York years back and now—.
Screech!
—He was gone.
Hoooonk!
'Huh?' Ora looked up and stumbled backwards as the nose of a towering black GMC Topkick loomed over her. An irritated, rough looking man with a huge build stared back at her from his open car window. His bright, electric blue eyes bore into her as she stood frozen in shock.
