Hey y'all my names Amber Bridgewaters and I'm 18 years old .I just started going to Yale University and I'm planning on joining the Alpha Phi sorority ,I always wanted to be apart of a sisterhood and I feel this would be the perfect place.My mom and dad always dreamed of me going to Princeton but I just couldn't follow there foot steps it just didn't feel right following there legacy .That's only because I wanna start my own legacy for my kids whenever that time came. I just feel like starting over without people expecting me to live up to my parents last name would be different ,But some how people still expect me to do that. They hear the last name bridgewaters and be like "oh your Fred and Angie's daughter " and all I could do is fake a smile and say yeah those are my folks. My brother got it lucky because no one expects you to go to college in prison. Shit they barely even pay attention to you after a couple of years,we'll at least that's how my parents make it seem.They act like they don't even have a son ,We haven't seen my brother in 12 years.When I bring up his name they change the subject quick and I mean QUICK. It's like their ashamed of him,and just stopped loving him ,They won't even let me see him.When I ask they always say "no you don't need to go visit him he wasn't think of us when he kilt that guy" .All I could do is secretly write him and get the mail sent to my P.O. Box.If they found out I was writing him they'll probably disown me too *pssst* I wouldn't even put it past them honestly.It's crazy how they act like everything is okay without him. Anyways Welcome to my life .
