Prologue 1: Moving Forward

"Ok, I have your results" The doctor said as he walked back into the room.

"Thank you, what is it?" Ichika asked.

It had been only 2 weeks, but Ichika had not been feeling well as of recently. Feeling like something is wrong, he decided to go to the doctors to get him checked out.

"Well, we went through all the testing, and it seems that you a heart condition" The doctor explained, "This in turn has caused fatigue, low testosterone, mild headaches, depression, mild nausea, and minor focus issues"

"Oh my" Ichika commented.

"However, you were lucky that this is only a minor case, and you had a check up in the early stages" The doctor added, "If you were to come by a month later, you could potentially be paralysed in the back, confining you to a wheelchair"

"I see" Ichika replied, "So, what is causing this?"

"From our results, we found out that the I.S. is affecting you and if you go on too long, you can be put into serious harm" The doctor explained, "I will have to convince IS Academy to release you"

"How, they've kept me under their hold for a long time" Ichika questioned.

"Don't worry, they don't understand the medical field that well, I might be able to convince them" The doctor assured.

"If you say so" Ichika replied.

"Now, you might want to pack your stuff, get ready to leave" The doctor suggested.

"Alright then" Ichika said, leaving the doctor's office.

As he left, he hopped onto the train and made his way back into his dorm. Getting his suitcase out, he began packing all his things. While he was packing, Houki crossed his mind. He realised that he won't be seeing her for a while, and it pained him. If he had to be honest, he had been holding his feelings for his childhood friend because of the other girls that like him. Grabbing a piece of paper, he began writing a letter before finishing up his packing.

A few days later

All the students of IS Academy were huddled up into the main hall/auditorium of the school. It was announced that there will be a mini assembly regarding recent events. As the standing area filled up with the students, a lot of people realised that there was a certain man missing from the crowd. The five girls were very confused as to where Ichika was, he wasn't one to miss something important. There thoughts were interrupted when Chifuyu took to the stand.

"Good morning IS Academy, I am sure you are all wondering why this assembly has been called" Chifuyu announced, "Well, there has been a sudden change, Ichika Orimura will no longer be a student at IS Academy"

This started a lot of chatter in the crowd, the only male student of IS Academy has now left and all the girls were upset. Those that were mostly upset were Houki, Charlotte, Cecilia, Rin, and Laura. A brave student decided to question it.

"Miss Orimura, why exactly did Ichika have to leave?" She asked.

"As it has come to my attention, medical experts have deducted that piloting the IS has caused Ichika to gain a heart condition that is affecting his health and mental state" Chifuyu explained, "I was informed that if we were to have him keep at it another month, it would've left him paralysed in the lower half of the body, confining him to a wheelchair"

Many murmurs and conversations were happening all at once amongst the female students, majority of them being of distress. The five girls, however, were extremely upset, some of them had trouble hiding it. After everyone had quieted down, Chifuyu went back to speaking.
