Again this isn't my work, all rights go to Rick riordan.

Leo POV
Jason huffed as he plopped onto the sofa next to me, "I think Piper's into another guy," he groaned, "She keeps avoiding me and she didn't want to go back to Camp Jupiter with me. What do I do?"

It was July seventh, my  sixteenth birthday, and I totally forgot that Jason was going to ask Piper to go back to Camp Jupiter with him. This guy needed some help fast if he was ever gonna make his relationship work , "Well, first, you need to take a chill pill, dude. Now, think about this, who would she even be into? I mean, besides me, of course," I grinned.

Jason glared at him, "Not funny."

I pouted jokingly and looked at him with sad puppy eyes, "Sowwy," my face returned to normal, "Okay, but, real talk, man. Just ask her. If you love her and she loves you,"-gosh I sounded so cheesy-"then it'll work out,"

Jason nodded slowly, "Yeah, I guess that might work. I just-"

I interrupted him, "Dude, just ask her already!" I said, "times a wastin', mi amiga,"

"Amigo," Jason corrected

"Dude, I'm literally Mexican, I think I know the difference between 'o' and 'a', now go, niñita,"

"Okay, okay, I'm going," Jason walked off.

I sighed, finally some peace and quie-

"Leo!" Hazel called

I groaned, not again!

"Leo! Would you mind building something for me? It's almost Frank and I's first anniversary and I wish to do something special for him. You're the first person I thought of who could build this,"

"What is it, Hazel?"

"Well," she looked to the floor sheepishly, "I wanted to make something special to protect his-you know," she trailed off

"His stick?" I asked

She looked up, alarmed, "not so loud, someone will hear!"

"Oh, yeah, sure. 'Cause no one already knows about his-," I said the next word quietly and looked around as if to make sure no one heard me, "stick,"

Hazel glared oh-so-politely at me

"Ok, sorry. But, seriously, whaddya want me to make?"

"A fireproof box," she said confidently

"Alright, I'll get to it!" I pulled a hunk of metal from my toolbox-how'd i even get that outta there?-and started beating it into shape with my hammer.

"Thank you!" Hazel said and walked neatly out the door.

I banged the box aggressively into shape-could he never get a break around here? I sighed, well, at least I had my ever-present burrito in my toolbelt. I reached into my toolbelt and my hands came out holding a kale smoothie.

"Seriously?" I asked my. toolbelt, "not even a nice slice of pizza?" I groaned and cautiously sipped the strange green drink. For whatever reason it didn't taste that bad. I paused. Wait- oh! Gross! Who drinks this stuff?! I spat it back into the cup and set it on the table-far away from me and my work.

"Hey leo," a soft voice said. I looked up to see Annabeth was standing there with a sad expression on her face. Oh boy, someone needs some Leo time. "What's wrong?"
"It's nothing," she said trying to look brave. She could have pulled it off except I am an expert on trying to be brave. I do it all the time.

I set my tools down and slung an arm around her shoulders and pulled a chair out for her. Then sat back down. Annabeth looked at me like 'you want me to spill my guts? Really?'. But she sat down with a wary expression.

"Come on Annabeth, spill the tea to Uncle Leo." She sighed and told me about her nightmares about her and Percy's time in Tartarus. "I should be stronger than this!" She said frustrated.

"Look Annabeth, I bet that Percy is over there with Beauty Queen having the same conversation. So why don't you two stop bothering us with your problems and bother each other." I stopped, sure Annabeth was about to punch me.

Surprisingly, she laughed,"You're right, Leo. I'm overthinking it, again."

"That's just your thing. We can't all be Super Mcsizzle Awesome Ladies Man like I am, can we?"

She snorted and got up from her chair. I followed her to the door. "Well, I have to go, thanks, Leo!"

"Yeah, sure, no problem," I said quietly, but she was already out the door and gone. I sighed. Finally some alone time! I sat on my chair and was about to finish the box I had been working on when I heard muffled voices outside the door

"...party…"
"...Leo?..."
"...probably too busy…"

Was all I could make out. I pressed my ear to the door and listened hard.

"Alright, let's head out, then!" I heard Piper say.

I assumed they walked off because I didn't hear anything after that.

"Another perfect ending to another perfect birthday," I said bitterly as he sat down, my head lying on the table. I tried not to think about the other birthdays I had.

Hera POV

I had headed back for Leo's birthday. a
After all, I had been his babysitter. I planned to give him a quick word celebrating sixteen years and give him a simple gift such as a new hammer made by his very own father in his spare time with his initials carved into it. It would fit perfectly in his hands and he would thank me profusely and maybe attempt to convince Chiron and Reyna to build me another temple and I would accept these gifts graciously.

But then the blonde boy showed up. I had just arrived and was about to reveal myself to Leo when the blonde boy showed up and started talking about his girlfriend. He wouldn't shut up about how he thought his girlfriend wasn't into him anymore. And then when he left, the Roman girl came in immediately afterward wanting him to make a box for her boyfriend.

And then after that that annoying Annabeth girl came in all teary eyed because she was having nightmares about Tartarus! Of course Leo comforted her, that's how I raised him to be after all, and told her to go talk to that upstart Percy jackson. For being the child of Athena, she sure didn't think things through. I mean they did go through tartarus together, why would he abandon her now?!

I made a mental note to tell Aphrodite all this teen drama, she loves stuff like this.

I realized I could finally talk to Leo when he suddenly stood up and was listening at the door.

Really, Leo!?!?

I could barely make out what Leo's friends were saying because of my godly hearing.

"I'm so excited to go to the going away party for Jason and I! " A girl said.

"What about Leo?" Another girl asked, concerned.

"Oh he's probably too busy,'' said a boy's voice.

Then they all walked away. I was outraged! How dare they! On Leo's birthday too!
I got even more mad when he just sat down as if he was going to work but then laid his head on the table and cried. I knew he was thinking about his mom and longed to comfort him. But I stopped because I was sure that since everyone is going to the party someone would notice he's gone and someone would walk past the cabin and hear his crying since its on the way to the pavilion where the parties are at. But no one came.

No one even came the whole day to wish him happy birthday!

"Well," I whispered coldly," I care about him and it is not right for no one else to love him enough to notice he's gone," I watched him fall asleep. He snored quietly, and I smiled. "And I know exactly how to do it."
