I hobbled out to the porch then smiled as I saw Jake by the boat house he was building, his music playing as he worked. I took a deep breath then slowly sat on the porch chair, watching as he worked. At one point, he reached behind his head and grabbed his shirt, pulling it over his head, which made my eyes track his muscles and I took a deep breath as I was reminded again of how overly hot this guy was.
"Hey, Adalyn!" I looked up and smiled as Jess came out with some tea, handing me a glass.
"He's still out there?" She asked and I nodded, sipping my tea.
"JACOB, COME INSIDE NOW!" Jess yelled and Jake looked at us then went to his phone doc, pausing the music and coming over with his shirt in hand. Getting to see his muscles from afar is one thing, but watching this Greek God of a man walk towards me with pecs that could crack a bolder was an entirely different thing.
"Are mom and dad here?" Jake asked, to which Jess shook her head.
"No, but they're close. Hurry up, get a shower so we can get dinner together before they get here." She said and he nodded, going inside.
"Girl, you are so not discreet about checking him out!" Jess said and I looked at her then stood.
"Don't know what you mean-"
"Just so we're clear, I am not blind!" She said then took my glass as I went inside, sitting on the couch. Until my leg was fully healed, I was going to be on crutches and my room was now downstairs and Jake was sleeping upstairs temporarily. I felt bad about kicking him out of his room, until I lay down and get that wonderous Jake Kyle scent from the bed. Then I'm rather okay with it.
"Adalyn, you've got drool." Jess said, which made me throw a pillow at her.
"Why are you so defensive?!" She laughed as she came over, sitting next to me and giving me a curious look.
"Because, Jessie, my sister was the beautiful sister! I'm just... basic! My hair is so unruly and I've got stupid curls, there's stupid freckles on my face, my lips are too big, my nose is too big, I'm too fat-"
"Please, stop before I get mad." I looked up then saw Jake standing on the steps in his jeans with a t-shirt in his hand, his other hand drying his hair with a towel.
"I'm going to see if mom and dad are here." Jess said and stood, leaving as Jake sat on the cushion of the couch next to me.
"Jake-"
"Smarty, you're so fucking beautiful, it's seriously unfair to the world! Your curls are so cute and I love seeing your bedhead in the morning! It's a little game I play with myself, seeing how your hair will be today." He grinned then reached forward, holding my hand as he stared at me and turned me to face him on the couch.
"Your nose isn't big, sweetheart, it's just right for your perfect face of gorgeous freckles and cute lips that look so soft! You're not fat, you're healthy and perfect just how you are! If you're considered basic, then I'd hate to see what's considered beautiful, because I doubt anything can beat your beauty! Your sister was pretty because she had makeup and other shit to help her. I've seen you with makeup, you do so little that you're almost not wearing any." He said and leaned forward, kissing my hands as he continued.
"Your hands are so soft too, and your nails aren't too long or short. You've got deceptive arms too, because you are so much stronger than you look." He whispered as his hands slid up my arms.
"You've got these strong shoulders too, shoulders that used to support the weight of the world." He smiled as he held my shoulders, his hands dropping to my ribs rather than sliding down over my chest.
"In a totally not creepy way, your chest isn't too big and it's not too small, it's just right for you. Sure, you've got a small tummy, but so do I and I work out all the time!" He laughed, which made me smile even as I fought tears.
"Your thighs are a perfect thickness too, thick enough to support your huge sarcastic attitude and that beautiful bubble butt of yours, but thin enough that they don't stretch your jeans or rub together." He said and reached up, holding my cheeks and smiling at me.
"And don't get me started on your eyes!" He breathed and shook his head.
"I could get lost in your eyes for days, Adalyn Jade. Some days, they're hazelnut brown, other days they're whiskey colored, but my favorite is when you look at me and I see milk chocolate in your eyes. I would definitely be a slut for milk chocolate." He said, which made me laugh as the tears started to fall, only for him to wipe them away.
"Your lashes are so long and beautiful, most girls would kill to have them, and your skin tone is a perfect tan that even I can't get with how much I'm outside." He smiled then leaned forward, softly kissing my cheek and making me blush as he whispered to me next.
"You're the most beautiful thing in this entire world, Adalyn Jade Costanza, and no one can convince me otherwise." He whispered, kissing right in front of my ear, then he sat back and I smiled as I nodded and he hugged me close.
"Alright, your turn!" He grinned, which made us laugh loud and long.
"Jake, I-I can never top that!" I laughed then laid on his shoulder, his arms around me.
"I know, because I could never compare to you, baby doll." He said and kissed my forehead.
"JAKE, MOM AND DAD ARE HERE!" Jessie called and I lifted my head, looking at Jake.
"Thank you, Jake." I whispered and he nodded, pushing my hair back.
"You ever want a compliment, you only gotta ask. I've always got them, Smarty, but only for you." He said, which made me grin right as his parents came in for Thanksgiving dinner.
