I woke up to my body being over heated. Sweat drained from my body as I suddenly shot up. My eyes darting from one end of the room to another, as I quickly realized I wasn't in my own room, but in an unfamiliar place. I threw my legs over the bed I was in trying to gather what happened and where I was. I noticed I was in a rundown basement that had water leaking from the ceilings and on a dirty bed with holes.
I got up and started walking around trying to find a way out until i heard some creaking coming from one of the walls and suddenly the wall lifted off the ground and a group of people that looked to be scientists walked in the basement. One of the scientists that was dressed differently to the others walked up to me with a gentle smile.
" Hello, I am Dr. Cassandra Bent, and welcome to the DDC or Department of Demon Caretakers. " (A.N: silly ass name😭) "From now on you will be working with us and caring for two demons, but for now let's get you out of this dungeon and into some fresh, new clothes." She said as she gestured to follow her out of the room.
Upon walking out of the moldy room, all I saw were white rooms and polished silver everywhere. It almost looked to be a sort of futuristic cybercore setting. There were workers everywhere, some where talking , some where eating, and some where just sitting looking off into space.
"This is the lounge room. A place where all workers can take a break away from their demons and just relax and take a breather. As much as we love working with demons, we love keeping our workers healthier more." Dr. Bent said with an assuring smile on her face.
We continued walking as the other scientists went to different parts of the lounge room. Soon we got to a large door with an sign that says apartments beside it. She picked up a card around her neck and inserted it into a slot on the door and it began to open slowly.
As we ventured into the exclusively large room, the door shut insanely fast and was extremely loud. I looked to Dr. Bent to see what happened. "Sorry, it's just a safety precaution for if any demons escape." She said with little to no worry in her face.
"Has there been any demon breakouts in the past?" I asked curiously.
"Actually a couple years back when the DDC was first built, one of our demons broke out and killed 3 caretakers and severely injured one of the guards. We unfortunately had to put it down due to the amount of damage it was causing us. But we've upgraded our security measures and prepared so nothing like that ever happens again." Dr. Bent said with an reassuring smile.
"Anywho this is where you'll be staying during your time here. This is the key that you'll need to basically get into everything in the establishment, including the room that your demons will be held in. Now, I have an important meeting to go to, your clothes are in the closet and there is food in the cabinets and mini fridge. There is a tablet on the bed with all the information you'll need about your demons and other important files that HQ will send you. Please do enjoy your stay with us and have a lovely evening." She said as she handed me the key card and walked off to wherever she was heading.
I took a look at the key card and saw that it had all my information and my demon's names on it. When I walked into the room it was completely dark and I started running my hands along the walls looking for a light switch. Suddenly I felt a switch along the walls and flicked it only to be met with the bright lights in the room. When my eyes finally adjusted to the lights I was met with ⬇️

I looked in amazement as I touched all of the soft furniture placed in the living room. When I turned to the left I found a beautifully decorated kitchen to match the living room .⬇️

When I finally finished with a tour of the place, I decided it was getting late and that I should get ready for bed. ————- (Time skip): 35 mins ———— I'd finally finished my night routine and was lying in bed, but the only thing I could think about is what tomorrow had in store for me. I was starting to get slightly anxious about it but then I just decided to leave tomorrow's problem for tomorrow and catch up on some much needed sleep. And with that final thought I let all of my worries go while drifting off to sleep.
