The afternoon sky starts to set as I push the small wooden tavern door open. Through the rows and rows of crops, I make my way towards the local church. My head aches as I make my way up the hill. The sounds of kids laughing and playing could be heard behind the closed church doors. As I reached for the door handle I heard soft humming for the side of the building. I followed the sound to find Sister Lily pulling clothes off the clothesline and folding them up. It made me smile to see her so happy just by folding clothes. " Morning"
" Oh, Y/n Is that you?!" Sister Lilys said before turning around. I shook my head yes before sitting down on top of a tree stump. " Did you just wake up?"
" Yeah". Sister Lily laughed. I stared in confusion at her "what's so funny?"
"It's actually almost dinner time"
"Really?!" Sister Lily nodded her head as she folded the last shirt. I sighed as I lean back on the cold brick wall.
" Is the priest here or did he go out again?"
" He's actually in today, He's just playing with the kids as I finish up the laundry"
" Well Tell him I said bye," I said as I stand back up again.
"What do you mean by bye you just got here?!" Sister said in a nerve-wracking tone almost dropping the basket of laundry. " Woah be careful!" I said quickly standing up to catch the basket.
" I have been here for almost three days now I have to go"
"When are you leaving then?"
" By nightfall"
" Where are you heading?"
"Ummm....Probably home" I said with a small smile. Sister lily's expression changes after she sees my smile. " Well at least stay and help me out with dinner! The kids and I would love to taste your cooking again before you leave." I laughed at her request. "Of course. Just let me go and change"
