Esmeray's POV
Did you know that when you tell someone your plans it decreases your chance of accomplishing it because your brain sees you telling someone about your plan as the plan being completed? At the same time some plans are just better left unsaid and in all reality do the people you tell really care or is it just social obligation?
The way the mind works is deeper and more complex than most people stop to comprehend. Now I'm not going to be one of those paranoid people who tells you to trust no one, there is times and places. You can trust someone to give you a lift to school, you can trust that a hospital will help you if you have internal bleeding. What I'm trying to say is never trust people with everything. I've never understood why it's so frowned upon for someone to have their secrets. A mind should be entitled to its privacy. The truth of the matter is unless your a mind reader you only ever know one side of a person. We all have specific versions of ourselves reserved for specific people including a personality just for ourselves.
Now everyone has these multiple facades they put up for different people but we all have a general one we place specifically for the world to see. Some people are known as the nice kid or the smart kid. I prefer to make an entrance. If first impressions are everything then make them memorable. I mean why be labeled when you can keep them guessing?
Alright mirror check. Hair, fabulous. Outfit, not overdone but not casual. Resting zero fucks face with a slight hint of mischief in the eyes, check.
Alright first day new school senior year let's go.
Narrator
First day of school at Green View High. Students milling in the hallways catching up same stuff different day. Then the doors flew crashing into the walls the crash echoing down the hall and in walked Esmeray.
Esmeray's POV
That's how you make an entrance. All eyes on me now don't mess this up. One year then you're free, then it's go time. Form no permanent attachments, be noticed but easy to forget.
Now I know your thinking that makes no sense but I have a theory. See Green View is a small place so I can't just immediately blend in. I'm new so everyone is going to notice. It's one of those little places where nothing has changed since someone's grandma was in college. So, my theory is if I get my new worn off all at once by the end of the year they won't even remember my name, then it's on to bigger things. Hence the dramatic entrance, memorable without being so extra that I could have added music and choreographed back up dancers.
As soon as I graduate I'm gone with nothing left behind but a few scattered memories of that one girl, what was her name? Elly? Emily?
I have plans and nothing, is going to stop me this time.
