"I apologize for not being able to bring a carriage for us on our way back to the palace. I was just sneaking away." Xion apologized as they walked through the busy crowd.

"Why would you sneak off? You're like, powerful enough to do what you want without other people's objections."

Xion sighed. "Apparently, my family especially my brother, King Ravn, forbid me to go out of the palace for now because of the masked murderess lurking around the kingdom. They were too protective."

Yoobin felt satisfied at how she affected them, and now she got the prince with her, she's getting closer to her goal. Maybe even easier.

"It's expected they'd be protective. You are a royal, the youngest one too. You are not just the prince but their youngest family member. They care for you."

"But I can handle myself. I can protect myself." Xion argued, making Yoobin snicker. He doesn't even know he's too close to the masked murderess and that she could just take his life in one go. He was only lucky enough Yoobin needed him for her goal.

"Did you just snicker?"

Yoobin shook her head. "No, I just think that you remind me of my old self. My parents used to be so overprotective that I get frustrated."

In the midst of her talking, Xion's eyes averted at the crowd behind her. His eyes followed a lady's familiar figure, just the same feeling he had when he first saw Yoobin. He felt his heart tighten and was about to go after the figure when Yoobin interrupted him.

"Where are you going? The palace is this way, isn't it?" Yoobin stopped him. She can't let him take another destination. She has to meet the royals now.

Xion, who was lost in a daze, blinked as he looked at Yoobin. He took another glance at the crowd where he saw the familiar figure but found it had disappeared.

Maybe it wasn't her.

"Oh, right." Xion cleared his throat. "I got distracted. I thought I saw someone."

"Who?"

"Just a friend." Xion sadly smiled. "Let's go. Maybe we can still make it for breakfast."

Yoobin sighed as she followed Xion's lead. She can't have him distracted by anything now that she's able to get inside the palace.

"Are they still inside?" Xion asked a royal maid who was standing right at the dining room's door. The royal maid gave her respects and opened the door for him and Yoobin.

Everyone at the table immediately glanced at the door, especially Ravn who was about to scold Xion for sneaking off again. Instead, the room went silent as their eyes averted to the lady he has brought.

The queen mother whose vision was blocked by her chair, could not see what her sons were looking at from behind. With furrowed eyebrows she leaned to the side to see for herself. "What are you all quiet for-"

"Good morning, mother." Xion bowed down, Yoobin's wrist still in his grasp. "Good morning, brothers."

"Good morning, Xion." Ravn said rather calmly. He couldn't reprimand him anymore, now that he has brought someone with him.

"And who might this beautiful lady be?" Hwanwoong asked, his chin resting in his palm. "You came back too early that I thought you found the murderess already, but instead you brought an angel."

Seoho rolled his eyes, already getting fed up with him so early in the morning.

"You all know Lord Hyunsoo and Lady Sooyeon, right?" He asked and everyone nodded their heads. "Well, she's their daughter."
