Chapter 3

I woke up and got ready for the day and headed outside to grab breakfast but one thing that made me suspicious. Mira talking to Camilo who was dressed like Dolores and she never could figure out if it was the person or not. Luisa got the table to where Abuela wanted and I sat at it beside Dolores and Isa. Abuela said, "We are all thankful for Antonio's gift." Then animals came up from her seat and we looked at Tonio and he said, "I asked them to keep the seat warm for you."

I nudged him and he smiled at me and as Abuela thanked him and said, "We will find a way to put your gift to use." We were eating and Abuela scolded Mirabel and made the chair sit beside her and Mira was acting strange this morning.  Mirabel was in a hurry to help Luisa for no apparent reason then Abuela said, "I have spoken to the Guzmans and Manchez's about Mariano's and Julio's proposals to Isabela and Estelia."

She came over to us and tilted our chins up then looked up at Dolores and I kinda felt bad for her because she has been in love with Mariano for the longest time. "Dolores, do we have a date?" Dolores tilted her ear and said, "Tonight for both and Mariano wants 5 children as for Julio same as well. But Julio doesn't care as much as Mariano." My eyes widened and the wind blew harder and Isabela calmed me down and I smiled at her and I looked scared and Abuela. "Perfect. Such fine young men for our perfect Isabela and Estelia." 

"They will bring new generations to the Madrigals and to make our families on both sides stronger and to grab for powers and I have spoken to them and they are willing to change their names too Madrigals." Camilo though he was so funny that he changed into Julio and Mariano but when he changed to Julio I blushed. Julio is my best friend from childhood and then I remember something that Tio Bruno said. I would marry my childhood best friend and that means Julio.

Then Abuela said, "Alright our community is counting on us. La Familia Madrigal!" We all said it right after her and I headed to do my chores with my power then I heard someone call my name and I turn around and saw Señora Manchez and I looked at her confused. "Señora? Is their anything you need?" She looked at me and said, "Julio is having a hard time doing the fire at our house because our firewood got wet. Do you mind helping us?" I nodded and we headed to her house and it was still in the same place as it was years ago and I headed inside and saw Julio struggling but when he saw me. He got up and straightened himself and said, "Lia I didn't know you were coming."

I giggled and said, "You mama wanted me to help with the fire this morning. So step aside Julito." He scowled at the nickname I gave him those years ago and then I looked at the wood and with the flick of the wrist I lit the wood on fire and Señora clapped and Julio looked in awe of what I did and said, "You've gotten better my Fuega." My eyes widened at the nickname that he gave me those years ago and I smiled at him and headed back home and got ready for that night.
