Luna Lokidottir, daughter of Loki Laufeyson, was born in New Asgard. Her mother died not long after her birth so she grew up without knowing who her mom was. She also grew up without her dad, but at the time given everyone thought he was dead. Instead, she was raised by her uncle, Thor, the king of New Asgard.
Luna got to grow up with her cousin, Astra, learning everything there was to know about their family. Their past home, how it was destroyed and how their new home came to be. She was glad she didn't have to face all this alone though. Having a family member close to her age made her life easier.
She started out having the best time of her life, enjoying the world around her. Her eyes shined bright, full of life and hope. Every now and again, Thor would let her join in the training sessions with his friends. From there she found her love of becoming a warrior. The weight of a blade from a sword in her hand. The clanking of metal against metal.
But then there was her.
Luna woke up every morning looking forward to her training sessions because of her. She's never seen someone that spontaneous, that strong. Fearless. It excited her. She had to get to know this mysterious woman.
"Uncle? Who is that young warrior that trains every morning with you?" Luna asks, walking down a corridor beside her uncle. They were heading to the dining hall after their morning training session.
"Why do you ask?" Thor questions, glancing over at his niece.
Luna looks up at her uncle before looking away at the floor below her as she walked. "I'm just curious. I never caught her name. Is she new to your lessons?"
"No, she's not. She's usually with the afternoon group." Thor stops outside the dining hall, turning his full attention to his niece. "On other words, you need to focus more on your royal trainings. You have been focusing too much on becoming a warrior instead of a ruler. Maybe I should cut back some of our trainings together. For now, it's best if you stay away from in all."
With that she was left alone outside the hall. The mysterious warrior still fumbling around her head.

"Luna! You need to focus." A frustrated voice says from across the room. Luna looks over at the source of the voice, an upside down Astra coming into view.
The two were supposed to be studying but all Luna could do was hang upside down on the side of her cousins bed. All she could focus on was that girl. She still didn't know her name.
"Hey Astra, do you by any chance know who that young warrior girl is in your dads morning training session?"
Astra tilts her head sideways in thought and confusion. She's not confused about the change of subjects but as to why her cousin is still daydreaming about this girl.
"You mean Asa? Why are you wanting to know about her so much? We have a lot more important stuff to worry about."
Asa. Finally a name with the face.
"No reason at all." Luna finally sits up and gets back to studying. The life of a royal. A life she was not expecting to be so tedious and time consuming. She'd much rather be outside enjoying the world.
Luna hears a sigh across the room followed by the sound of a book closing. "If you really wanna know more, I hear she goes to the library around mid-day. You have to be careful because you know that's during your class time. If dad hears that you missed it because-"
"Blah blah blah, I know I know. But you'll cover for me. You always do." Luna gives her cousin a wink before closing her book. "What do you say we take the rest of the day off and go outside. Being stuck inside is killing me!"
Astra chuckles, shaking her head. "One of these days you won't have me there to cover your ass. What will you do then?" She gets up, walking across the room. She nudges Luna as she walks by before going to the door. "But you're right. We do need to take a breather. Come on."
A smile forms across Luna's face as she scrambles to her feet. She's glad she has her cousin. What would she do without her? She quickly grabs her robe, draping it over her shoulders as she followed her cousin out the door.

Luna spins in a circle, enjoying the warm weather. She's glad they came outside, it was a perfect day. Not a cloud in the sky.
"Okay this is nice. Definitely a well needed break. Though we should really head back. Don't you think we've traveled far enough into town? If dad found out that we went this far without a guard-"
"Astra would you just chill? We're fine! Besides, the townspeople love us. They won't mention a word." Luna waves at a few children as they walked down the road. She enjoyed walks like this, the freedom she has when she can go places on her own. She's tired of her uncle breathing down their backs. Sure she knows it's for their protection. But it's overbearing.
"I just can't help but be concerned. I don't like getting in trouble. I should just head back. You just- Luna please be careful and be back before dinner."
Luna just nods and gives her a smile and wave. She watches Astra turn around and leave before continuing with her walk. She turns a corner, almost bumping into someone.
"Oh my I'm sorry! I should really watch where I'm going." A soft voice says as Luna takes a few steps back. She looks at that person in front of her. The face of the one in front of her makes her heart rate go up. Asa.
"No no it's fine. That was my bad."
"Well, I'm Asa by the way."
"Luna. Though I'm sure you already knew that. Everyone knows." Luna stumbles around her words, suddenly feeling really nervous.
"Yea I've seen you around here and there. You are pretty popular." Asa laughs, the sound ringing in Luna's ears like music. It was beautiful. Everything about her was just wonderful.
"I uh yea I assume so." She lets out a laugh of her own before gazing back up at the girl in front of her.
"Well Luna, do you wanna go on a walk with me? Maybe we could get to know each other more."
Luna just nods, the words not wanting to come out of mouth. She would love to get to know more about Asa. Get to spend quality time with her.
"Great. Let's go." Asa gives her a smile before they both start walking down the road. Luna pulls her robe closer around her, a smile on her face. She may be going against her uncles wishes but at least she's not missing her classes. For now anyways.
