She's my first friend

Matsushita sat with a red face and was angry at me for most of the dinner. There was also a barely noticeable red mark on my cheek from her palm, because she slapped me as soon as I let her go. It didn't hurt, but it was still a little unpleasant.

Matsuo served us quite a lot of delicious dishes, after which my new acquaintance, who became my first friend, more or less controlled herself and apologized for hitting me in the face. But I wasn't mad at her, because it was all due solely to my thoughtless actions. Simply put, it was my own fault that I was hit in the face. In fact, I could even easily dodge her slap, but decided not to do it, as it could make her even more angry.

Anyway, it's time for ice cream.

– I'll bring dessert now. Please wait a bit.

Matsushita already seemed full and probably could not imagine that anything else would fit in her stomach. You really should have seen with what speed and appetite she ate that delicious baked fish or that steak with blood or that large portion of salad. In general, Matsuo did not spare her and gave her anything, so long as she ate to exhaustion.

- Wah, I don't think I can eat anything already.

Matsushita was sitting right next to me, I could see perfectly well how she was now stroking her stomach and smiling. She looked like a happy mother waiting for the birth of her child. That's just in this case, this girl just ate her fill. I decided to call her.

- Matsushita.

– Yea~h?

She turned in my direction in a relaxed way and looked straight at me. At that moment, I leaned slightly in her direction and stretched out my hand directly to her face.

– A-Ayanokoji-k-kun???

– You have some crumbs left on your face.

I had a clean white napkin in my hand, so I calmly wiped the small pieces of food that remained on her beautiful lips and even cheeks. For some reason, she blushed, and her gaze became very uncertain.

– T-th-thanks...

She was very confused about something, but I didn't understand the reason. In any case, in a few moments, this lovely girl turned away from me and began to examine the walls and floor, clearly finding them more interesting.

- By the way, Ayanokoji-kun, can I ask one question?

– If I am able to answer it, I will answer it.

Matsushita stopped blushing, and her complexion more or less returned to normal. She turned her attention to me by looking in my direction. Her posture on the chair suddenly became more even and perfect, as if she was afraid to say something wrong right now. Her beautiful lips, slightly embellished with almost imperceptible lipstick, cautiously opened, but the words did not leave her mouth. She tried to say something, but could not do it for another ten seconds, until suddenly her slurring tongue yielded to her will.

"Ayanokoji-kun... may I ask where your parents are now?"

This question probably should have been the first to come out of the lips of such an attentive girl as Matsushita, but she only just thought about it. Perhaps earlier her consciousness and thoughts were diverted first to me, and then to food. Now, when she began to look around, these thoughts about such a question crept into her head.

Judging by the way she asked her question, it was very difficult for her to ask about it. Perhaps she thought that this topic hurt me, or she herself had some specific problems with her parents, which is why she was careful in such matters. Unfortunately, the exact reason was unknown to me.
