Hours have passed and the disperation written on two male faces never left when finally, a girl walked in Y/N's apartment, where everyone was waiting for a hope.

"Mia, please tell me you have any news about Y/N!" Mr. Jung exclaimed filling the room with his worry.

"I don't, I'm sorry... Since it was announced that Jacob and her broke up, I haven't heard a single word from Y/N..." Mia tried to fake a sad attitude.

"What should we do then? The police said we should wait a few more hours, but I don't think this is the right thing to do!" the father said with tears in his eyes.

"I really don't know... My poor best friend went missing and there's nothing I can do!" she took a tissue from her purse and blew her nose.

In the meantime, a different face was judging Mia's behaviour from the couch.

"Mr. Jung, I think you should go home and get some rest. Now that Mia is here, I can stay with her and wait for Y/N!" the boy spoke with a calm voice, but daggers left his eyes towards the girl's silhouette.

Mr. Jung got up and went to the young man to give him a hug. The boy returned the motion, still with his eyes fixed on Mia. After seconds of silence, Mr. Jung broke the hug before sighing.

"I'll go in this case... but please, at any hour, any time, contact me if you find something out, ok?"

"Sure thing sir!"

And so, before flashing a weak smile to both young people and eyes filled with sorrow, Mr. Jung left the apartment.

"Now" the boy's voice cracked the quietness as Mia went to sit on an armchair, opposite of the couch. She looked at him with no emotion on her face.

"Tell me, where's Y/N?" his words sounding very serious.

The girl scoffed, feeling offended by the question he just asked.

"What makes you think I know that?"

A chuckle escaped the boy's mouth after hearing the ridiculous answer.

"Please, and how stupid do you think I am?"

"Yah, Park Taejin! I'm just as worried as everybody else! If I knew where she was, do you really think I would keep it to myself??" Mia defended herself.

"I don't know, that's why I'm asking" he paused "But what if I tell you that I have something which shows otherwise?" he displayed a satisfactory smile.

Mia looked at Taejin confused, not quite understanding what he meant by that.

"I don't know what you're talking about." she responded while moving her gaze towards a window.

"Then I'll make sure to let you know"

After finishing his sentence, he took out his phone and went to sit closer to Mia. Unlocking the screen and searching for some digital documents, he then showed her some interesting pictures of her car with Y/N in it. Mia's eyes got bigger and palms sweatier, not uttering a single word.

"Did cat got your tongue?" he smirked.

"That...had nothing to do with Y/N's disappearance! Where did you even get these from?" she dared to speak.

"Someone. But look, at 7 pm you were with her, then at 7:43, you were still together in the car, and then" he emphasised on the word 'then' "at 8:37 you were coming back from where you've been, alone. And these were taken on the day she disappeared!"

"I..."

"You..?" he waited for an answer.

"We went shopping, but as we were buying stuff she heard the news about Jacob and told me she wanted some space, so that's why we didn't come back together!" she spoke rapidly trying to make the excuse sound as plausible as she could, but the boy didn't believe anything that came out of her mouth.
